Nausea???

Anyone who experiences nausea with their ibs found anything that helps it? I was given cyclizine by gp but it makes no difference.

When I'm having a flare up I get nauseous when I wake up for a good few hours then it fades out which is good but I've got two small children and it's hard enough in a morning without feeling sick to my stomach. Sometimes eating a banana helps but not always.

Any advice/tips much appreciated.

I drink hot water from a kettle. Its very soothing x

I get some relief from meds , such as Ranitidine or omeprazole . Not pleasant feeling though . It seems though a fairly common complaint with IBS .

I take a Homeopathic remedy called Pulsatilla and find that helps for dizzy sicky feelings might be worth asking at your local shop.

My gp prescribed motillum which works very well taken before eating.

I drink fibre gel orange which seems to help not to bad taste but you have to have after food.

I’ve take a peppermint oil capsule in the morning (you can get these from most health food shops) helps with an unsettled tummy too. Though it does minty burps if you don’t mind that haha

I found ondansatron and buscapan to release the gas. A hot water bottle on tummy and if you are hungry just have a sap, keep it light.

Hello pajohns,

I get it sometimes, it's a bit like morning sickness and, like you mentioned, lasts a good few hours. Then it reappears in evening again usually around dinner time or before going to bed. Unfortunately anything I've tried hasn't really helped. So have no choice but to put up with it. Sometimes it comes on 2 weeks before my period.

I find chewing on some glace ginger or the one with sugar on it helps. Health food stores seem to have a better one than elsewhere. Best of luck.
