So I finally had my colonoscopy today after having loads of different tests done. (They thought I had endometriosis to start with)
They have taken 6 lumps out of my large intestine and sent them for biopsy. I'm back in 5 weeks for another colonoscopy for my small intestine. They now think I have crohns 🙈 I have got to start the FODMAP diet as of tomorrow to cut everything out. I've been prescribed buscopan to help me out with the pain, bloating & gas and then suppositories to help with my bleeding.
Has anyone else has these symptoms and all been ok?
Also anyone else on this eating plan?
Thanks xx

I have a good FODMAP cookbook called the FODMAP friendly kitchen by Emma Hatcher. I am gluten, dairy and sky's free and also have problems eating some raw fruit and veg. I don't have crones but have slow transit constipation. After spending 2 years in and out of hospital I had 1/3 of my large bowel removed 2 years ago. The diet is a pain but I feel much better on it. Best of luck with the rest of your test and hope you get the help you need.
Oh brilliant thank you I will have a look around today. It's alot to take in my mind is baffled lol. I'm willing to try anything if it's going to make me feel better.
One thing I'd like to say about bloating and gas after your procedure, I have just had a colonoscopy last week, which unfortunately had to be aborted, due to not being able to get the tube through a mass, all very painful.
After a CT scan, I have now been diagnosed with diverticulitis, with acute inflammation and a very swollen colon. I was prescribed antibiotics and lactulose. I had a dreadful night last night, due to severe wind which had gone into my upper thigh and leg. I couldn't even stand never mind walk around. I think this was caused by both the CO2 gas pumped into the rectum and colon during the colonoscopy, and the lactulose, which is known to cause gas and wind, although i didnt realise just how much .I'm not going to take any more of this. I remember when I had a keyhole surgery for a hysterectomy earlier this year, I was told to keep a lookout for gas going into my shoulder, so this is why I am assuming it could be the same sort of effect here.
Pleased that you seem to be getting somewhere. Having my 4th colonoscopy over few months. Thirteen polyps removed then professor removed two or three which were in folds then another six removed and next one on Tuesday . I was told I didn't need one but I insisted, good job I did , so on it goes for the moment. I put myself on a gluton free diet 14 months ago it's worked for me.
