My doc thinks I have IBS but my main symptom is always nausea, triggered by eating certain foods and sometimes just seems unexplained. I’m on low FODMAP diet but still happens occasionally. It is getting in the way of my daily routine with going to university classes etc.
I was wondering if anybody had any more natural remedies for nausea? Such as peppermint capsules or something?
Anything at all would be appreciated!

Hello Cait999 I am exactly the same.I suffer with nausea so much it rules my life. Ive ended up taking cyclising .Told my doctor I had to have something cause I was having trouble with eating.Been on peppermint oil capsules and they did nothing.I do have quite often apple cider vinegar from the health shop, and that is good for settling tummy. But it’s not cheep! If you keep suffering it’s worth giving it a try.Better than suffering 😉
Peppermint tea every day . If you have in the morning and another early eve may help . Also peppermint capsules and ginger tea also meant to be very good
I'm on cyclizine from the doctor which is an anti-sickness medicine. It doesn't remove the nausea entirely for me but stops me dry heaving which was the main bit getting in the way of work and everyday life for me and I've been on them for a year and can 99% of the time get on with my normal life xx
I’ve had nausea constantly due to slow transit dysmotility small bowel bacteria overflow + chronic gastritis for many many years...i follow all the usual self-help guidelines, and, having tried EVERYTHING OTC, home remedy + prescription, i find that sipping ginger tea all day long does help most reliably to minimise the nausea ...Gin Gin ginger chews also help me. 🍀🍀🍀🍀 coco
I was going to suggest the same, ginger tea is good for nausea, I cut up and peel ginger root then put in freezer. When I want a tea I just grate the root straight from the freezer. For a quick tea I use lemon and ginger teabags, some supermarkets sell own brand ones and they are fairly cheap as you are a student finances may be tight. Write down when you have nausea and what foods you have eaten to check if there is a pattern, this will help if you go to GP for help. Good luck on your course.
