Hi...does anyone have experience with wind as a symptom of IBS (particularly the sulphar-specific-smell kind)? It’s so gross isn’t it?!! Any advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated in terms of foods to avoid etc. TIA.

Wind!
I definitely do! Especially when I'm nervous. What I would say to do is to avoid foods that make you gassy and this is stuff like broccoli and cabbage and other things. But it's all dependent on what you eat
Yes it's terrible and I find very painful. I avoid beans, cabbage, broccoli etc during a flare up and limit them in general.
Me too. I don’t have any pain so my Doctors convinced it’s not IBS and anxiety related. So I’ve just started medication for anxiety and I try and eat smaller meals then normal and take peppermint capsules which I find helps. But I’ll see what happens with these tablets.
Yes I have been bad lately and it seems to tie in with me purchasing small shredded wheats i.e. too much wheat. The box is nearly gone so that will be that, back to the lovely porridge.
I find that sugar free items make me gassy as well as beans and onions and garlic. I find peppermint oil capsules are very helpful and cut the gas down and also drinking mint tea is helpful as well.
It’s the gas that causes the pain I find. Long periods sitting make it worse and anything greasy is a no no
Yes I get this if I eat shop bought cakes or biscuits - I put it down to additives. I now eat home made cakes and the problem has lessened.
