Have found this site very helpful to know I'm not alone re stomach problems. One if my problems is extreme uncontrollable involuntary gas/wind none smelly. It is so embarrassing as it is very noisy. I'm not over weight conider myself as fit. I suffer with a lot of diarrhoea then constipation. Have tried probiotics but no relief. Any suggestions as to how to relive the wind ? The others parts I can sort of manage. Would be grateful for advice.

Involuntary wind and ibs
I think a lot of us get this & there doesn't seem to be a lot you can do. I have found cutting back on wheat & dairy seem to have helped the most. I was told it's okay to have butter & hard cheeses but to avoid soft/young cheese & animal milk. Charcoal tablets help a bit too.
I tried charcoal tablets and it has worked for me but its best to take it 3 to 4 hours after any other medication
Which charcoal tablets do you take - and do you take them every day after every meal?
The ones I have are from Holland & Barrett. You can take 2 after each meal 3 x per day i.e. 6 tablets per day. Other brands are available of course.
As many people have advised cutting back (or in my case out completely) wheat & dairy is my solution. Plenty of fluids and fibre to ease constipation and meds to control diarrhoea. I've just discovered Loperamide tablets & capsules contain lactose but the instant melts do not so I've switched and been much better D- wise. if I have a 'windy' day - known as doing an Ann in my family - I just apologise and get on with it, EVERYBODY farts, don't let it get you down but practice your pelvic floor exercises to improve control. Good luck
