Upper left abdomen pain (ibs and ibs-d)

Hi there, I'm 17 and just over a year ago I was diagnosed with IBS. Just recently I've been having quite severe pain under my left breast in the abdomen area near the upper ribs. I do take colofac and buscopan and they don't seem to be helping.

Also, for the past month i have been having IBSD non-stop, is there anyway to combat this?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi Convey, I was prescribed Colofac when I was first diagnosed, which was in 1996/7 and it didn't work for me either and neither does Buscupan. I have recently purchased Kolanticon Gel, see below:

kolanticon.com/

I haven't tried it yet as I've only just received it in the post but the reviews are pretty amazing.

Most people on here that have IBS D use anti diorrhea tablets but also follow the FODMAP diet (you will see a few posts on here relating to FODMAP) but have a look online.

All the best

:)

I had non-stop IBSD for over a year. Fodmaps had no effect. Now under control by taking with fybogel with mebeverine four times daily.
