Hi everyone. Haven’t written here for a while. I am actually been doing good. Managing my symptoms quite well. Today for dinner I had home made salmon (grilled only with pepper salt and some basil)and some stir fry veggies which included some bak choy red pepper ,1/4 zucchini and some cherry tomatoes. Also some salad tomatoes cucumbers and lettuce with some kimchi ,olives & olive oil. So I make both these dishes quite often. And salad I eat everyday minus the kimchi. But today after eating dinner I got moderate gas. Which I experience after most meals. But then I started getting moderate pain in my gut. There was no urgency feeling but I went to toilet and passed a bm. Which was loose but not watery. Then was feeling better. Wonder why this happened. As over the last year I have eaten the same meal many times. In addition to my dinner I did have five dates after dinner. Just wanted feedback if the dates could be the cause. Also I was wondering if there is any other cause to this happening. Maybe something other then IBS D.

I think so too. I chk the FODMAP app. They are definitely high FODMAP. Got to be careful in future. Thanks. 🙏

I agree. I have had them before. Haven’t effected me. Maybe the number is also a factor.

may be you had the dates before alone separate enough from a meal ..but when eating them together ( mixing dates after a meal directly ) this could have the laxative impact ..just a guess based on my experience ..can't mix different families of foods together ..i need to have at least 2 hours intervals !!

I agree. Earlier I had eaten the dates separate from my main meals. I guess combining them was a mistake.

I agree with Maureen. 5 Medjool dates could give you about 100g of simple sugars which might be enough to give you a level of osmotic diarrhoea. I suppose you could test this by doing it again.

I will. Once separately. And once I will try after meals again.
