No pain with IBS

It's strange when I read about everyone's symptoms of IBS. I get terrible gripping stomach pain if I've eaten something I shouldn't of but I don't get pain all the time. Only until I go toilet. ( urgency). Does anyone else get no pains? I've heard if people being taken to hospital with so much pain!!

From what I've read on here, I think pain levels and frequency are unique to everybody and not having them all the time, as some people do, is just one big bonus!

Sometimes I get pains through my stomach that goes to my lower back and down my legs that makes me sweat it's so bad. Lucky it's not often and I know it's going.

I didn't think I had IBS, because I get so little pain.

A consultant confirmed I have IBS-d. The only time I get pain (which is very sharp and low down) is when the Imodium I take makes me constipated, I think this may be the passing of a very hard stool.

Hi. I never used to have pain with my IBS until I became gluten free and now have it a lot. I think it's a different situation for everyone so try to make the best of good days :-)

I have never had pain - only know when diarrhea is going to strike !!

I have pain constantly,I have 3-4 BM a day and each time the pain gets worse,by tea time I'm in agony. I grin and bear it ,I've been to A&E a few times but it's just a morphine injection then they send you home. So now rather than sit for 3-4hrs for that I just suffer quietly.

My pain sounds a little like yours. Horrible intermittent gripping pain that can bring me to my knees, which is usually resolved with a trip to the washroom.

I don't get pain all the time in the stomach. it's when I eat, like you. what I do have is an ache, itch, always on my right side from my sternum to the mid back at the waistline. I've had it for years and no one knows what it is.

I get pain every day and in the afternoon now if i eat or dont eat.my pains in the morning get worse when i have a bm.in the afternoon i have symptoms and pain to open my bowels and ive already been in the morning so there isnt much there n cant go.ive got the c type.im waiting for results of tests.

My pain relating to IBS, like you, is when I am ready to open my bowels and like you I suffer from urgency. Some days I can go up to 7 times or more, especially if I have to go somewhere in the morning. Being anxious about going out makes my IBS worse. I also from time to time suffer from a lot of discomfort in my tummy from going to the toilet so often. Everyone seems to be different.
