Prevalence of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw [ONJ].
New study below [1]. I think that some are blindsided by ONJ. The risk is significant with bisphosphonates & Xgeva, & might not be properly explained before treatment. And one's dentist might not be on the ball. In the U.S., Xgeva is now approved for multiple myeloma, having been found non-inferior

Bad news or 'routine'?
I wrote a few weeks back regarding my husband Mike: Gleason 9 with bone mets to right hip, left femur, (possibly) spinal region, and rib area. Hello All, I've followed many of the posts on this site for a few months now, but I've been somewhat reluctant to participate. Some of this reluctance comes from dealing with the emotions of so many men and their families being effected by this insidious cancer and my own situation. Some of my reluctance

Zometa and increased kidney levels
I have MBC with bone mets in the hips, ribs and spine and started with Arimidex and Zometa in October of 2016. In August of 2017 Ibrance 125 MG was added. About the same time I started the Ibrance my creatinine levels started increasing and I just wondered if this happened to anyone else? My oncologist

Exemastane and Afinitor
Hi, it will be 5 years ago in July I received my diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer. I started out on exemastane and zometa infusions worked great for 4 years then I was put on letrozole when it stopped working. Letrozole only worked short time anyway Cancer has spread to a few spots in my spine.

I think most will. Adding June 2024: Importance of Vitamin C in collagen formation. Here is an article which

Metallic taste/itchiness on Zometa, Ibrance and Femara?
I started Ibrance this week and immediately I have detected a metallic taste in my mouth. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what works to control or combat it? I've tried peppermint candies and they don't seem to work. Does anyone itch at night? I've tried Benadryl in the evenings when this

Im on chemo 10 tomorrow. Will also get latest bone marrow biopsy and other test results. Getting an updated CT scan this week too. My PSA is undetectable. As far as im expecting, the cancer should not be growing. BUT, my back has been hurting more and more. At first discomfort, and now the dreaded nerve

The study seems to have started on the premise that: "Melanoma and prostate cancer may share risk factors." "There is growing

Alcohol intolerance. Is alcohol dehydrogenase causing our continued issues even after b12 injections?
I posted previously in regards to having issues with being able to drink any amount of alcohol without feeling like I got run over by a truck. Several others posted they also have this issue. I've been doing some research and alcohol dehydrogenase seems to pop up in several of the articles. https
