Zometa
Hi! I’ve been on Zometa for about 16 months...once a month infusions ...now going to 6 weeks...I used magnesium spray for aches and pains...also I do a lot of walking which increases bone health...
Wow good for you. I️ had my first zometa infusion on Friday and by Saturday afternoon I️ was a mess. Last night was awful the pain was so bad. I️ also had my fulvestrant shots at the same time.
I had my biggest reactions the first two or three infusions. Make sure to drink plenty of water the day before, day of and day after. Benedryl can help some, too. You can ask for extra fluids (IV) and a longer infusion time. I was on Celebrex for arthritis before cancer and I think it helped me quite a bit. Acetaminophen may help some people, too. Side effects can vary alot person to person, but I do think that for alot of us, feeling like a "mess" is likely to improve after the first few infusions. But do talk with your onc about it.
