Xgeva
I’ve been on zometa for 4 years and am switching to Xgeva. Will I have some time before any side effects begin? (I want to visit someone on my way home)

In these uncertain times I know, I am not the lone ranger. But ?
I have been on xtandi for several months, PSA is creeping up from 0.08 to 0.4 as of 3 weeks ago. Zytiga previously failed after 16 mos, rad prostectomy 2016 and radiation 37 sessions. Currently on zometa infusions every 3 months and lupron on same day. Next round April 13th. I have a pet auxium scan

Everything about Prostate Cancer
I’m a care giver for my dad. He is 80. He has always been healthy and workout. No previous diseases or illness before this. He started with not being able to urinate back in November, which landed him in the ER. They put in a Foley catheter and prescribed (Flomax)(tamsulosin) daily pill to help

Bone Strengthening
What does everybody take/use for a bone strengthened? Do all of you take calcium? I was given one IV of Zometa but I didn’t receive anymore as it cause my blood calcium levels to drop extremely low. When I asked my oncologist what I should be taking to increase my bone strength he said he wasn’t up

Needing Advice
Hey guys, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted. To give you some background, my dad was diagnosed with stage IVb prostate cancer/Gleason 9 in October 2018. Prostatectomy not an option for local and peritoneal Mets at that time. Underwent 6 rounds of taxotere, responded SO well with minimal side effects

Denosumab vs Celebrex and Zometa
I discussed the Celebrex + Zometa combo with my MO (in the context of ~20% lower mortality rate in metastatic setting), and he suggested I take Denosumab (no Celebrex). I see studies comparing Denosumab to Zometa, but I don't see anywhere comparing it to the combo of Celebrex and Zometa, or used by itself

Bonkers?
Hi Ladies, I'm after your thoughts please. I am in the very lucky position of having 'no measurable disease' for which I am truly grateful. However I now have a decision to make. It is important to me to visit the hospital as infrequently as possible. I am currently on Letrozole, Ibrance & Denosumab

After Docetaxel..PSA increased from 0.149 to 0.192..Should I be concerned?
Just came back from the MO visit. My Dec 2019, PSA was 0.149 ( lowest ) and today it has gone up to 0.192. Finished my docetaxel ( 6 cycles) in Nov 2019. All other blood test results were good including Alk Phosphate which had come down to 58 ( lowest since my dx in Nov 2018). LDH of 207 which is also

Update after Chemo
Started out with PSA of 2470 went down to 42 after Firmagon injection. Just completed 6 rounds of Chemo and 3 rounds of Zometa along with taking Bicalumide and Predisone. Current PSA is hovering around 100. MO was going to recommend Aberaterone w/ Presdisone but I saw a specialist at Georgetown Hospital

Lupron, baking soda, low PSA
Zometa and lupron were so hard on my Dad that we decided to hold off on the next injection. Has been off both since Dec 10, the date he was scheduled for his next 3-month injection. On diagnosis, PSA was over 1k, he recovered from pneumonia in Oct and a 12-day stay in the icu. Once out of hospital, we

Pleural Effusions
Been about 6 months since Xofigo was too tough for my body. On weekly taxotere now, 3 weeks on and one off. They are thinking I need to get things drained in chest. Have not been able to be as mobile yet from radiation for met hot spots in ribs and then Xofigo. Still on Lupron 6 months shot and monthly

Next steps after Xtandi and Zytiga
I was diagnosed with mPC in May of 2016 at 59 years old. I’ve had Docetaxel, Lupron, Xtandi, Zometa, and now Zytiga. My PSA initially decreased with Xtandi in November of 2017, but after 2 years it rose, so I switched to Zytiga in October of 2019. Continued to rise, from 1.6 to 2.1 in one month. My PET

Zometa was suggested today Although need clearance from my dentist because possible jaw side effects.
I found out only 1.6% who take zometa have a jaw issue ok I can live with those odds although I understand the 3 to 4 week infusion outcomes are comparable to the 12 week infusions. 2016, rad prostectomy. 2017, 37 sessions radiation. Lupron casodex, Recently diagnosed with L3 lesion after zytiga failed

Some good news today On PSMA SCAN
Brief synopsis of the latest on me. I had a partial cryo-procedure about eight years ago. With 60% of a remaining prostate, my PSA remained stable at about four for approximately five years. When PSA started going up, I did an MRI on my prostate and they found nothing. So about three years ago I did

Could it be effects of Zometa after SRT?
Happy New Year everyone. I'm frightened and need to hear from calmer voices. In early December I had stereotactic radiation therapy on 4 spots on my spine/sacrum. The following weekend I had some intense pain flairs but it eased up after a week or so. The following week I began having a lot of fatigue
