P.I.P Home Assessment - Feedback
Well, finally the assessment took place today. Wasn't too bad so will fill you in from application to home visit. Firstly, after phoning up on 27th June to apply for PIP (the day DLA changed to PIP), it took roughly 3 weeks from that first part of the application over the phone (similar to the previous

Asthma dream
After it was mentioned in a post the other day, I thought I'd say that last night i had a struggling to breathe dream ....something along the lines of going deep sea diving, only my air supply started to get cut off, anyway I normally stay asleep but last night I woke up and was actually struggling.

That'll learn me!
So - my asthma has been on the up since I got diagnosed with adrenal crap in March. Today I ... ... thought and tweeted about how chuffed my consultant will be at the difficult asthma clinic in 3 weeks when I tell him I haven't had a proper scary attack since March ... walked the dog this morning

claggyness in throat
I'm getting a claggy feeling in my throat, like thick mucus that I can't swallow/bring up. At times it briefly closes off my throat and I can't breathe for a second or two. Any ideas what it could be? Asthma s not 100%, averaging 75-79% on peak flow, symptoms 3-4 times a week (2-6 puffs at a time) but

Everythings changed on here.
Haven't been on here for a while, bowed out when things were getting nasty, hope everything is calm and happy now? Just logged on to - once again - praise the NHS, or at least the Castle Ward of Royal Berks Hospital in Reading. Rocked up at A & E last Saturday at 5.30 am with COPD (or is it?) breathing

asthma, anxiety or both?
How can you tell the difference between the 2? I think it may be both but I'm not sure how to tell. my peak flow is constantly around 320-330 (before salbutamol), my best is usually 490/500. my inhalers seem to bring it up to 360-370. my only symptoms are chest pain/tightness which eases with

Peak Flow - does it work?
Has anyone else found that you can have a tight chest yet no dip in your peak flow. Other times my peak flow will correspond to how I'm feeling but often it just doesn't! and GPs act like its the best thing ever ! If i have a good peak flow whilst I'm in the docs they'll just act like I'm right as rain

Should I stay or should I go now
I have been struggling all last week with my asthma and hay fever obviously the current very high and high pollen count and hot weather are not helping me. Unfortunately, things are getting worse for me, yesterday I used a total 26 puffs Bricanyl reliever for the day, and a total of 10 nebs for the day

Home peak flow vs Lung function test peak flow
Hi there! I have been monitoring my peak flow twice daily for the past few years and my personal best is around 360, and my lowest is 200. However, I recently had a spirometry/ lung function test in the hospital and the technician gave me a value of 5.8 for my PEF- how does this relate to the peak flow

Update - having hard time with taper, doctors
Eight months ago I came down with a cold which turned into one of my worst periods of uncontrolled asthma in years. Things hit a low point at the beginning of May when I was hospitalized for an asthma flare-up. The week after I left the hospital, things were really good and I thought that finally
