Hi i think thats up to your doctor ,my peak flow is 150 and i take the lowest dose of prednisolone two and a half and i have been on this 12months now hope you feel better soon
Hi, I think you need to talk to your Doctor - they would advise if you need them permanently. Or make a call to the BLF helpline the might be able to give you some answers. Good Luck TAD xx

Hi rick1, The GP will deter the dosage you normally start off high then you start reducing them slowly till you get to a happy medium and if the dosage is low then your GP will be happy along with any other consultants.Mattcass

After what seemed like years ,off chest infections ,high dose of preds then reducing ,another chest infection back on reducing dose ,and generally a very poor quality of life i.e. always short of breath,low tolerance to any exertion ,I put myself on 5mg a day ,huge improvement after 8 months spoke to my excellent GP about it ,first time I had seen him in those 8 months ,still get the odd excerbation and can still increase the dose ,I have put up with the side effects because my quality of life is so much better ,Speak to your G P .what works for one person may not work for another ,best of luck with it .Hope this helps .
