Mild Asthma Under Control, What Are My Next Steps?
Hi Guys, The doctors have prescribed me with a steroidal inhaler (beclometasone based) and a blue inhaler, I rarely use the blue and the brown is used 2 puffs morning and night. This seems to have controlled the chest tightness/cough etc just fine but where to go from here? I am still left confused as

Deep sound during pef
I am new to this (two months), and lately I have experienced a deep sound from my throat during tests on my peak flow meter. It is as if something is vibrating in my throat, and it is a little uncomfortable. Also, when it is very present, it seems to lower my pef a bit even though I have taken my Bricanyl

Testosterone therapy and lung capacity
I just wrote in a comment about this and decided I might as well make a post to see what people think. I am transitioning, in short simple terms I was born neurologically a boy (gender) but my body including my internal organs and hormones (sex in other words) was female. So I'm taking testosterone

Peak flow question
Hi all, On a peak flow what is the % difference between 500 and 550? I'm always at around 500 before salbutamol/ symbicort and always 550 aftwards? Tia 😊

Hi All, I'm new here and am looking for some advise if at all possible... Back in September 2016 (at the age of 39) I had a severe chest infection (my doctor mentioned that it was borderline pneumonia) which made me rather unwell. Since the illness I have had difficulty breathing with my chest always

Feeling the need
Hi Another question. We as asthmatics are told to take our blue inhalers when we feel we need it. Are there any others like me who struggle to work out when it is needed? I do not wheeze and have never wheezed. So I cannot listen for the need. I am on high esomprezole 40mg two tablets twice a day

What should I do?
I saw the gp this morning as for the last couple of days my asthma symptoms have been getting worse. I've been using ventolin every day, waking during the night, having tight chest and feeling wheezy but can't hear anything if that makes sense? Also coughing when I do any exercise etc. My peak flow

letter to gp from endo
I have received a copy of letter sent to my gp after consultation with endo last week. Lady has been unable to reduce her prednisolone since her visit 6 months ago. Mainly due to frequent hospital visits after long period of being housebound. She had her bloods repeated today. which showed a macrocystosis

Going downhill again 😔
I'm currently on holiday in Gran Canaria. My peak flow is 270 and normally 450. I'm not sure if I have a chest infection again or not. I'm trying to hold it out until I get back to the UK on Thursday. I have been given a rescue pack of Prednisolone from my consultant which I started yesterday. So another
