Viral-induced asthma diagnosis
I suffered with asthma from the age of 11 up until about 18. Am currently 35 and have a had a nasty viral infection for the last few weeks. It has resulted in a an inflamed airway and a persistent night time cough. I visited the docs today and she says that the virus has aggravated my asthma symptoms

In a galaxy far far away...
2 weeks in the medic ship and finally I was cleared for active duty, onwards in the fight to over throw the evil Emperor Palpatine, while keeping my Jedi powers a secret, lest I get rounded up and killed like many before me. For now we must keep our powers secret, though I hear tell of a young warrior

Regular Mucus of a Morning
Hi all, First post here. I'm 22 and the last few years I have experienced regular wheezing and always seem to pick up a chest infection. Sometimes it feels infected and sore, whereas sometimes its just white mucus that doesn't seem infected. Just a nuisance but once coughed up I'm fine for the day.

Sport proper warmup
Dear all, about two weeks ago I had my frst ever asthma attack. I'm a 40 year old woman who never had great lungs (somewhat smallish, peak flow always some 50-90 below normal depending on calc method), but also never had serious problems either. Call me thick, but I'd love to work out again as soon

How to know if I need steroids?
Hi. I'm new here, unfortunately I'm not new to asthma. I have been diagnosed with mild-moderate asthma since young childhood, I don't have mild asthma attacks, or even moderate asthma attacks, I have severe-hospital-admission type of attacks for no apparent reason.Like a lot of asthmatics, I am struggling

Chest tightness and shortness of breath with normal MRI
Sorry, this is a long post, but I'd be really grateful if anyone on here could help. I started having chest tightness and shortness of breath about four months ago, which started off as being intermittent and gradually got to the stage where it was constant. Around the same time, there was about a 1

10 Months Quit :-)
Hey non smokers, I'm doing my monthly check in. 10 months now without a fag and definitely don't feel like having one. I still have waves of shortness of breath and anxiety. I called in to the doctors for a chat about my SOB and cough and he assures me, even at 10 months this is still quite normal.

Hello again
So many new people and sadly a few less since I last posted. I'm not sure if anyone will remember me, I was caring for my mum who had emphysema, and sadly died at Christmas. I think it may be my turn to need help now. A routine health m.o.t with our practice nurse has lead to the probable diagnosis of

Getting emergency help.
Today I tried to phone my doctor for an emergency appointment after becoming suddenly very wheezy at work. After getting through 3 times I was cut off each time. Colleagues had allowed me to leave work , although I was evidentially wheezing hard and a 'funny colour' ( i am a primary school teacher).

Here we go again! Advice appreciated
Hi everyone, not been on here for a while so my brief history this year goes like this: repeated infections proven with sputum tests as always told my chest is clear, consultant started me on Azithromycin 3 times a week, as he now thinks I have broncistatus (can't spell sorry) although I had CT last

no air
Noticed over the past few days that even though im getting enough air in my lungs, I'm getting little oxygen. Ventolin helps but I need a fair bit before I feel any benefit. Peak flow isn't too low, about 70%. can anyone relate?

Has anybody got any ideas?
Morning all. I've been swimming before work every morning for the last 8 years and I feel that I have benefitted a lot from doing this. However, over the last few weeks one of those nasty automatic air fresheners has been introduced to the locker rooms. It sprays a foul smelling 'perfume' every 20
