Worried about my pancreas
hello everyone and I hope you are all well. I'm a alcoholic of 10 years and just turned 30 . I've been drinking very heavily for the past 7 years. I've given up for weeks/months but can never end up quitting for good. I ended up drinking half of bottle of vodka, which Led me to drink 2 more

anyone had a traumatic transfer and had a bfp?
hi ladies, I had my 6th (and final) transfer today. It didn’t go well. I hadn’t drank enough water and they struggled to get the catheter in. They had 3 different ones and two different doctors had a go. The embryo had to go back into warming whilst they eventually got the catheter in. Home now

12 year old boy still having night time accidents
My son is 12 and has always had trouble with wetting himself. He took ages to be consistently dry during the day but never had any trouble with that now. I think he just didn’t want to take time out of his day to go to the toilet! Grew out of daytime wetting by the time he was about 8. He often wets

Exhaustion has me flattened…
I have had phlebotomies since January. I got a break from May to June from them. Had another in July and one in August where they took 600ml. My Dr increased Peg to weekly injections of 45mcg 3 weeks ago, maybe 4. I am very breathless and my heart races if I do anything but sit. My local Dr would not

Drug for post radiation fibrosis
Does anyone know anything about pentoxifylline, used to treat in post-radiation fibrosis, and it's affect in a patient with liver disease? I don't know why I'm even asking. It can't be OK? Pentoxifylline is supposed to increase blood supply and improve fibrosis. Or where to get more information? It

Giving up driving...
Hi I just needed to vent a bit and ask for advice on how to handle something. My husband has decompensated alcohol related liver disease. Cirrhosis, regularly gets new varices banded etc. He has been seen by the QE transplant team but his UKELD score is only 52 so they aren't assessing him yet and

how long to plan for disimpaction?
Hi, I've only just discovered this website. My 5 year old boy has been having poo accidents since he was toilet trained at 3. Last year we were referred to the bladder and bowel service after a lot of persuading the health visitor. We have had 2 appointments with them. He has been on 1 sachet

Man Trapped in Trauma Bonded Marriage
This situation is unusual as it is a male friend of mine who has been trapped in a trauma bond for 20 plus years, his wife is a controlling narcissist and he is petrified of her. I have read a lot about this subject in order to help him but most research seems to be pointed towards female victims. This

disaster in holiday
I have IBS and have managed for the last fe years with Imodium. I am on holiday with my grandchildren at moment and I have had two episodes of accidents with severe diarrhoea with no warning and unable to get to a toilet. I am mortified and feeling unable to face the world. Why has this started to happen

waking from an induced coma
Does anyone know where I could possibly find information regarding how people are woken from a head injury. So for example how they try and wake the patient and they give a time limit of say 2 hours then decide they aren’t ready so put them back into the coma and they keep doing this until they are

catheter placement
I've been reading that feeding the catheter via the radial artery at the wrist is preferable for a couple reasons. If there's unwanted bleeding it's much easier to stop in the arm than in the abdominal. There's no need to have to lie flat on your back from 2 to 6 hours after the ablation is completed

Coping with slight intermittent anal leakage
I'm a 65 year old man in the UK. I had IBS diagnosed in 2007, and I have coped really well with it, mainly because I now only get flare-ups (always diarrhoea) three or four times a year. I've recently had a couple of episodes, brought on, as usual these days, by very hot weather. These attacks have
