Shock diagnosis and 4 week wait for follow up at rapid-access Heart Failure clinic. Is my anxiety justified?
Two weeks ago I went for a stress echo test. It was a real shock that after a preliminary echo the test was abandoned. Serious faces and mutterings all round ensued, and a cardiologist came in, studied the screen and told me I had heart failure! She advised me not to go on my planned holiday till

Multiple arrhythmias
I have now been told by EP that I have a number of different arrhythmias which probably explains why various rhythm control meds have caused other arrhythmias and not been effective . The ablation I had earlier this year helped and i am mostly in sinus rhythm. Only taking blood thinner and sotolol PIP

Hi I wondered if any of you have had micro bleeds in the brain and had to therefore come of warfarin? We’re you put on clexane/fragmin etc? How has that worked for you and what was ongoing treatment? Also have you flown ok post bleeds on a plane? TIA

anterior wall afib ablation update from April 28th
I am super excited, I had a follow up with my EP Dr. Here in Arkansas, they did tests including my pacemaker interrogation… Whooo Hooo, it showed NSR 99+%, less than 1% out, but NOT afib! Never give up, I wish I had followed Cleveland Clinic DR advice 4 years ago, following up with a 3rd ablation after

Metoprolol, flecainide and prevention?
Age 59, lone paroxysmal AF for 12+ years which I have largely ignored because it wasn't that bad. It's been 4yrs since the last major episode but I suspect I am now in low-level AF a lot. I'm guessing at this because I don't have an AF app and due to the pandemic it's been nearly four years since my

Knowing when I am ready to drive again post-op
Hi everyone. So I’m 2-weeks past open heart surgery to replace aortic valve. Which is just wild. Did the usual requirements of advising who I need to about me not driving, and in my case I need to go to see a doctor 6 weeks after the op to discuss being fit to drive, for them to write a letter etc

Needing some suggestions to sitting for hours in hospital
I am 26 and on warfarin for a mechanical aortic valve inserted in April 23. I need to be tested very regularly, normally every 2 weeks atleast. It must be a blood test as the pin prick tests proved unreliable in my case. I spend hours and hours waiting at St Barts for a blood test which is where I am

Mitral Valve Af and fed up
hi all, I’ve been diagnosed nearly two years ago with AF. Cardio version worked for 5 days so was put on Amiodarone 200mg along with the usual others, Apixiban, Nebivolol. The Amiodarone messed my thyroid about so was put on a higher dose of Levothyroxine. Fast forward 5 months I get an appointment

Can Sodium or Calcium Channel Blockers Worsen SVT?
Okay, so I have a new med that I am trying, Propafenone. I have failed Norpace and also Flecainide. The problem I am having is that it seems that these medicines are making the SVT worse. I have Atrial Tachycardia. I cannot find any information about this. Where can I get more information? My doctor

Pacemaker
Good morning so for months I have had feelings of fainting and hardly left my home. Anyway I finally had ecg echocardigram and R test. Saw my cardiologist yesterday and he said that I am now bracycardic as well as having Af so will need a pace maker. Bit of a shock. Also to immediately cut my propanalol

Hi everyone, I am 41 and due to have my descending aorta fixed due to an aneurysm. They also found my aorta has created vascular ring around my trachea and oesophagus which needs to be sorted out. They plan to do a thorocotomy. Has anyone had experience of this? I can only find those who have had theirs

Seeking reassurance post-cardioversion
Hi everyone, As I've posted before, I had a DCCV on Tuesday of last week after being in Atrial Flutter for 6 weeks - 2 months. The flutter has come about after open heart surgery to repair a large hole in my heart. My levels of anxiety about the Flutter returning are variable, however much I try not

Post-Surgery
Hi everyone! I have had my heart condition ever since I was born so it’s nothing new to me. I have just recently (April this year) had my 4th open heart surgery to replace my mitral valve due to endocarditis. The recovery is long but I am doing well and have been back at work for 2 months now. Recently
