advice on synacthen test
for anyone who has been following my story they will know I’ve been having medication issues and I am now taking T3 only. Still having issues with weight gain. Spoke to my endocrinologist last week and she has agreed the increase to 40mcg. This was after she had suggested trying a small dose of levothyroxine

Lanzoprazole and side effects
Hello, I am over 2 years past Ivor Lewis oesophagectomy and have been taking Lanzoprazole 15mg once a day, then Gavison at night. I’ve found that my folate and ferritin are low , probably caused by ppi use and wonder if anyone has managed to come off them. I know they have lots of potential bad effects

Help! Can't find a pharmacy that stocks Roma T3!
I've been ringing around pharmacies in Stoke-on-Trent and no one stocks Roma Pharmaceuticals T3, nor can they order it from their wholesalers! Are there any NHS online pharmacies that stock them? If there aren't any, I'm back to ordering Mexican Cynomel. Is there anyone that has recently ordered from

Just a quick update, Endo appointment 👿
went to Royal Liverpool Endo dept , was hoping to see the consultant who is on TUK Uk list. Unfortunately this did not happen, the person I saw was less than helpful, see I can be tactful, sometimes. Introduced herself as diabetes consultant and she lived up to that name. The first thing she said

Not at the patients demand!
I have to share this anecdote. It makes me laugh, cry and despair in equal measure. After 8 crappy years with thyroid symptoms getting worse I put myself on T3 in November. On day 5 I woke up and said the words "I feel better" before my conscious had even engaged my brain. 4/5 months later I can sit

Intermittent fasting affecting thyroid values
For the last few months (around 4), I’ve been doing intermittent fasting, because I’ve read about the benefits of taking a break from eating. I eat for about 8 hours and fast for around 16 hours. My latest thyroid test results have shown a slight decrease in both FT4 and FT3. I’ve read somewhere that

I have a note on the chemists file not to dispense Teva thyroxine. I recently got a prescription filled and I have started feeling extremely unwell with headaches, stomach upsets and feeling lightheaded. The only difference has been this change, when I have checked the box the underside of the pill

New Rheumatology Referral - hope it comes through quickly!
Hello folks, I’ve had fairly mild Reynaud’s for a long time and have more recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia due to ongoing raised glands, pain & fatigue without infection/ inflammation. This was after seeing a rheumatologist who did a thorough examination, in-depth interview and blood/urine tests

T3 medication lowering FT4 - causing worsening of symptoms
When taking T3 medication (plus T4) it drops your FT4. Has anyone found that this drop in FT4 made them feel worse ie feeling more depressed and fatigue/energy even worse (or have you read about this happening to anyone)? Did you have to increase your T4 medication to get your FT4 up higher in the

Ferritin
Please can you remind me of lowest Ferritin levels acceptable for RLS sufferers. My last reading was 60, having gradually come down from 400 following an infusion. I had to fight for that infusion(level was then in the 20s.) I only managed to get it because the mother of a locum I saw was high up
