subclinical - do I need levo?
I have been borderline Subclinical hypothyroidism for around 10 years. The GP put me on levothyroxine 2013, I took a low dose for a month or two but couldn’t tolerate it (palpitations), so I stopped. I was referred to Endo who did a check on my antibodies - was clear. Every year, my tsh was either just

Confused about latest blood tests - why are FT4 and FT3 rising, but I still feel awful and I'm undiagnosed and not on any meds?
Sorry for the super long post.... I would very much appreciate the help of you wonderful people on this forum. I am a bit confused with my latest blood test results that I just received yesterday, and am hoping that you will be able to help me understand what's going on. I'll try to keep it brief, while

Dietary Approaches to Improve Efficacy and Control Side Effects of Levodopa Therapy in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review
I was researching supplement BCAA provided by my husband's functional medicine MD. I was surprised to find one of the ingredients was listed as a major contraindication with levodopa. L-Phenylalanine. Dug a little deeper and it related to protein and impact on levodopa. Found an interesting article

Which tests to ask for or pay for to aid diagnosis?
So Like many of us, I SI, couldn't get GP to listen to my concerns about symptoms my first serum B12 result was 354 I think, so he said normal , but we know different don't we. I have told them I SI, and he nearly fainted, especially when he saw a high result for B12. Tried to tell me it was dangerous

New blood results - advice on whether to speak to GP?
Good afternoon everyone, I posted back in November (https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/150229278/blood-results-low-ft4-normal-tsh-warrants-gp-review) and received some really helpful advice, so I thought I’d post again for your opinions with some new blood results. Blood test taken at 08:50

Symptoms fluctuating
I am positive for Trab, TPO and Tg antibodies. I had Graves, was treated with carbi (didn't need high doses), went into remission and stopped carbi as per endo advice about 7 months ago (after 14 months of treatment), was ok for a few months and now, instead of suffering a hyper relapse as I thought

Update on my journey of elimination
Hello everyone, I'm a 39 yrs old female. Some months ago I started my elimination process. I haven't been feeling well for the last 6.5 years, in and out of jobs and life in general. I was doing great on 3 gr of Armour for 2 years up until mid 2017 and then crashed. Trying to resolve the mystery of

Hypo after all?
Hello everyone, this is my first post, though I’ve been gleaning pearls of wisdom from this site for a couple of years, so thank you all! I’m a 60-year-old male. I’ve had chronic fatigue since 1988; tight forehead pain and a horrible “saturated brain” feeling since the late 1990s (brought on by reading

private testing
hi all, I hope you’re well. I’d like to ask about the finger prick home tests that Blue Horizon offers. How are they able to check all of the below markers with such a small blood sample? I’m aware that containers are super small and they claim to be testing a lot: Inclusions: TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4

Another 8 weeks on. Advice, please
Hi everyone. Background: I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism some years ago, but only discovered last November (2023), thanks to the forum, that I have an atrophied thyroid. Also, upped my dose of Levothyroxine in early October from 100 mcg Levothyroxine 3 times a week and 125 4 times a week plus 10mcg

more blood results help
hi again, I’ve had further bloods taken after starting levothyroxine in July 2023. The doctor refused to do full bloods so only did TSH & vitamin D. They started me on 100mg of levothyroxine and I also took all the suggested supplements After 8 weeks I didn’t feel much better so increased to 150mg.

"Subacute" "Combined" spinal cord degeneration, decoded?
An ongoing question is the meaning of the initial terms of Subacute Combined Spinal Cord Degeneration. Jade recently posted a link to the article, "A Case of Subacute Combined Degeneration of Spinal Cord Diagnosed by Vitamin B12 Administration Lowering Methylmalonic Acid" I was grazing through the references

8/4/23 Update questions for MO
To review, after 19 months on Lupron, Zytiga, prednisone, PSA increased on 1/23 to 0.253, then 0.309 on 2/21. Plarify scan showed only one active site in hip which was radiated. 4/4 PSA dropped to 0.24 which indicated the lesion was knocked out and I would be hormone sensitive and stay on Zytiga. Yea
