Newbie with rapid onset of lung-related symptoms (Asthma, COPD, virus?)
Hello everybody! I am new here and have found reading through people's comments and experience very helpful so far, so thank you! I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on some symptoms I have been experiencing over the past 2 weeks - my doctor has diagnosed me with asthma and given me a peak flow

What was in the nebuliser?
Sorry, everybody - I think this might turn out to be quite an essay! Maybe you remember me writing on here about having to cancel our holiday to Greece because of a COPD exacerbation? That was early June and since then, all has been well. The insurance company paid out (hoorah) and we spent some money

Asthma difficult to control for about to years
Hello, I hope you you are all having a nice summer and your asthma is not behaving too badly. My asthma has been classed as difficult to control asthma for about two years now so I was referred to the Department of chest medicine (respiratory) at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. I was

Regular Mucus of a Morning
Hi all, First post here. I'm 22 and the last few years I have experienced regular wheezing and always seem to pick up a chest infection. Sometimes it feels infected and sore, whereas sometimes its just white mucus that doesn't seem infected. Just a nuisance but once coughed up I'm fine for the day.

Feel rather ill
Having moderate copd I have been off the fags for a month or so and now I feel worse than when I was smoking!! My temperature is normal but I am relying on the ventolin to manage the breathlessness to be able to get my normal day to day tasks done. I have an awful productive cough too.

NHS medication recommendations, and minerals
Hi all, as there are no asthma nurses at my current home country, doctors are God, and I never had asthma back in the UK (I miss the clear air up north!) I'm a bit at a loss about what a normal asthma therapy looks like. I have Ventolin for whenever needed and I'm supposed to use a Salmeterol powder

argh, side effects
So I was feeling better again over the last week and thought there's hope I get rid of the side effects by eventually taking less meds. This morning my lung volume was somewhat reduced again :( I have Ventolin, which only kind of works when using a nebuliser Salmeterol Montelukas At least the first

Newbie!
Hi everyone, I've just been diagnosed as having moderate COPD, which was a bit of a shock as I'm a non-smoker (although my parents both smoked and they ran a pub when I was growing up, so I've obviously inhaled hundreds of cigarettes over the last 49 years!). I've Just picked up my new Spiriva inhaler

Hello again
So many new people and sadly a few less since I last posted. I'm not sure if anyone will remember me, I was caring for my mum who had emphysema, and sadly died at Christmas. I think it may be my turn to need help now. A routine health m.o.t with our practice nurse has lead to the probable diagnosis of

Asthma, or panic?
Hello all, I've been on a strange trip these past few days. The night from Wednesday to Thursday I woke up not being able to exhale. So I woke my husband, decided on the nearest ER vs ambulance and he drove me there. After a blood test and an ecg they diagnosed hyperventilation and a panic attack.
