Ventolin is good for rapid relief of breathlessness, 1 or 2 puffs at a time (a minute apart).

8 puffs a day is the recommended maximum, but don't worry about going up to 12 puffs a day if needed - assuming no side-effects are experienced . . .

My husband and has found that it is much more effective if he uses a spacer with it - easier to breath in the medication. You could ask for one from the gp. TAD x

Ventolin opens up the airways. My attitude use it when needed. I also understand that you are looking at other variables. Go back to the doctor who prescribed the medication and ask that person how much is too much.
