Hi I'm new to this forum, I've currently got laryngitis with a chesty cough (aweek now) but the doctor changed my seritide to sirdupla on Tuesday and I'm wondering if this inhaler isn't helping me , been on seritide over 15 years and controlled my asthma well.. but I'm wheezing and the sirdupla doesn't

Reoccurring chest infections since 2012- any advice and solutions?
Reoccurring chest infections since 2012- been reading threads on here about this as a lot of people seem to pinpoint their first chest infection in 2012- is this just coincidence or is there a prevalent strain in london at that time? I've had 3-4 chest infections per year since then- had one at Christmas

How do I cure ongoing chest infections?
Hi there, I have had asthma since I was three years old and my biggest problem is chest infections. These happen in winter mainly, seasonally, and I'd say on a bad year I can have up to 5 or 6 chest infections/upper respiratory infections a year, though these have worsened in recent years. It normally

Asthma suddenly worse after 30 years of being well
Hello everyone and happy new year, I'm hoping to get some advice. I had bad asthma in childhood but it's been well controlled with a preventative inhaler since my teens, with only occasional use of my blue ventolin puffer. I'm 51 now and caught a bad cold at the start of December (despite a flu jab

Does it ever get better?
I am a 46 year old female that was diagnosed with asthma 4 years ago even though probably always had a very mild case looking back. Things blew up in the fall that year being exhausted with three young kids and have never been the same except for a glorious remission of symptoms for an 8 month period

Is one puff of blue inhaler usually enough for mild symptoms?
I am in desperate need of cutting down my ventolin before it makes me any worse from refractory bronchospasms. Is 1 puff of blue enough or must it always be 2?

I started coughing more than usual on Monday but as I was away seeing family I couldn't get to my GP till Thursday. Thankfully he had the sense to immediately start me on antibiotics- Amoxycillen 500mg and steroids- can't remember dose offhand but I take 6 tablets in am for 5 days as he said I was wheezing

To those on UNIPHYLLIN SR and the initial side effects??
Hello, I've just been prescribed uniphyllin 200mg SR twice daily for the first time, as I'd hoped, due to my worsening asthma. I've informed them that I have decided to stop Xolair after nearly 3 years and no improvement, in fact my chest is much worse. A High resolution CT scan showed some areas of

Warning Lush isn't asthma friendly
While out Christmas shopping for stocking fillers bought a few things from Lush for daughters Christmas stocking. Put my purchases up in my bedroom and was sitting up in bed and started coughing had to reach for my ventolin. Had to remove said purchases from room. Love Lush but the products don't

Dampness and asthma
As the weather where I live has got wet again this afternoon it's made my airways inflammation. So my chest is sore apart from using ventolin which will keep my peak flow up. I have seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day,Monkelaust, anti histamine. Waiting to see if asthma nurse will prescribe a steroid

Asthma attack 😔
I have ended up in A&E twice this week. Once on Monday when I walked in as the Ventolin was not lasting the 4 hours that it should. The doctor then gave me a course of steroids for 4 days. However, I also ended up back in A&E on Tuesday, this time by ambulance. They gave me a nebuliser and oxygen on

Fed up with my Ventolin Inhaler
Hi All, My name is Sonia. I was first diagnosed with asthma at a very young age. After pursuing a career in design in my late teens, I began to notice that the vast majority of medical devices focus strictly on practicability, subsequently letting design fall by the wayside. It s why I created colorful
