Inhalers!
There is a history of asthma n my family and like my mother I started suffering around the age of 50. I have a nasal drip and excessive mucus. I'm allergic to cats and pollen to some extent. After a long bout of chest pain although spit as clear and not infected my doctor has put me back on Ventolin,

Since being diagnosed with the copd devil lol in January I have been using Incruse inhaler it was a powder form one . It seemed to be fine until my last script I felt the powder crumbling in my mouth and throat sticking to it. I was also using my ventolin much more when using Incruse. I went to my nurse

Spirometry and Fit to Fly Test
Went yesterday for above tests. 40% reversability with ventolin Fev1 in 2014 = 1.07, 2015 = 1.21, 2017 = 1.11 all a bit of a mystery to me :-) DLCO 2014 = 46%, 2015 = 51%, 1017 = 50% of predicted Fit to fly showed a drop from 93% on room air to 71% on airline mix and back to 91% on airline plus supplemental

Bad winter asthma. Inhalers causing bad insomnia!!
Hi, I am new to this forum so apologies if i miss something. I live in Melbourne Australia but this forum seemed promising. This recent cold weather has caused a terrible asthma flare up like never before. Recently i only used my ventolin every now and again only when needed and also have had experiences

Going downhill again 😔
I'm currently on holiday in Gran Canaria. My peak flow is 270 and normally 450. I'm not sure if I have a chest infection again or not. I'm trying to hold it out until I get back to the UK on Thursday. I have been given a rescue pack of Prednisolone from my consultant which I started yesterday. So another

Just diagnosed.
Hi there I was diagnosed with Asthma on Wednesday . I had had flu and a chest infection 5 weeks ago that had left me with a cough, by the time I went to the Doctors I couldn't breathe, walk and talk all at the same time. My peak flow reading was 230 which went up to 360 after some Ventolin and a 20 minute

Inhalers
I take 4 inhalers, Fostair 200/6, Spiriva Reptimist and Ventolin with a Fluticasone Nasal spray. My asthma nurses have advised a nebuliser for emergency use but NHS no longer fund. Does anyone else find these expensive

First post here! Looking for a bit of advice
Hi :) Sorry for the lengthy post, in advance! Just looking for a bit of advice about my uncontrolled asthma...any opinions or similar stories would be greatly appreciated. I've suffered from allergic asthma (dust) for the past three years, and have seen countless doctors and specialists, only to benefit

Flostair versuses seretide
I have very recently swapped from seretide 250 to Flostair 100/6. Started Tuesday and asthma is getting worse again. I thought it was just the heat but no barely two days of being off seretide my chest is start to ache and I reaching for my ventolin. Nuts I thought so I going to put myself back on seretide

Trying to find an inhaler that doesn't have bad side effects.
Hi all, can you tell me why my doctor and respiratory nurse is trying to get me on combination inhalers. I am in the very early stages of COPD. I have been on Ventolin for about a year, only when I get short of breath. Some days I don't need it at all. Just after New year I got a bad chest infection

Update since last one when sleep was being murdered...
Since I last posted about a month ago, I've been moved to Fostair and I'm loving it. For the first time in 6 months I can breathe. More, if I do get breathing probs, I reach for Fostair first (am on 2 puffs am and 2 pm and up to 4 extra in a day) and within 10 - 15 minutes I am breathing *and I stay

A keen gardener, diagnosed with aspergillosis
I am an 80 year old lady, new to this site but not to the British Lung Foundation. A life long asthmatic, I was also diagnosed with COPD. However, this diagnosis has recently been changed to bronchiectasis/asthma, with allergic broncho pulmonary aspergillosis. I am used to living with breathing

Ventolin inhaler with AF
I have had a cough for over 3 months starting after a bad chest infection, been to the Dr and have had three lots of antibiotics, none helping. He then give me a ventolin inhaler about six weeks ago, I haven't got asthma, but I had an AF episode lasting 4 hours whilst taking it. I read the leaflet

Duoresp withdrawals??
So have been taking Duoresp for little over 2 weeks, 4 puffs twice a day and it helped alot but while waiting for my repeat prescription I missed an evening dose. I woke up very tight chested, this for me is normal but whats not normal is the pain that followed, specifically in the back between my shoulders

Duoresp update
So I've been taking duoresp for a week now, 4 puffs twice a day. I have only needed to take my ventolin twice in a week, which for me is incredible, no bad side effects yet, my chest did hurt on the third day but it passed. Mornings are the worst time for me, I would normally be coughing and very tight
