There is a history of asthma n my family and like my mother I started suffering around the age of 50. I have a nasal drip and excessive mucus. I'm allergic to cats and pollen to some extent.
After a long bout of chest pain although spit as clear and not infected my doctor has put me back on Ventolin, Clenil (using a spacer) and Mometasone nasal spray plus an antihistamine tablet each morning. However the inhalers have a negative effect on my voice and leave me with an unusual taste in my mouth as well as a husky voice which is making it difficult to sing in my choir (I'm preparing for a concert at St David's cathedral ofVerdi Requiem , 1st soprano lots of top A)
I've restricted the inhalers to once a day, at night time whilst taking the nasal spray night and morning.
I'm due to see the asthma nurse tomorrow for a test.
Is there another way to keep my chest clear????
I am also very concerned about steroids having experienced how negatively they effected my mothers skin in particular making it paper thin.
