Working in a Nursery and Stricter Social Distancing
Just seeing the latest update from Asthma UK about who exactly needs to isolate for 12 weeks... I don't think I am covered as my Clenil Modulite is just under the dose they've classed as high, and although i was prescribed Montelukast I didn't get on with it, and my last course of steroids was just over

Define severe asthma
Hi All, I'm a bit confused about the asthma part of covid-19. My work do have the ability for me to WFH, although they are trying to get as much people in to the office as possible and at present it has been agreed but this could change and anytime and I want to make sure before I insist on doing it

Hyperventilation syndrome
Hello all, it has been a while, I want to share this information with you as it has literally saved me. I have had asthma since childhood, now I have it chronically as an adult, for several years it was managed with my flixotide inhaler and only rarely needing ventolin until the end of last year. Suddenly

Ventolin on repeat
I was at Asthma Clinic last week and was told they are no longer putting Ventolin on repeat as there have been many deaths from mild Asthma where people have been rely on their Ventolin and not their Preventer. They say if you need more than 5 ventolin inhaler in a year you now have to be referred to

Clear xrays/cscan but can't breathe!
I am having this same problem! I have had asthma for years. I am on controller medications and I use a ventolin inhaler almost daily. I often wake up at night choking and I use my inhaler. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have a home nebulizer machine for when this gets really bad. I've

Newly diagnosed with aortic aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve
I've always had a certain amount of shortness of breath; I was never good at cross-country or sports at school and I remember being given a Ventolin inhaler on the off-chance that I had mild asthma. I also remember that it made no difference. I've been fairly active in my adult life, doing a fair bit

How reliable is spiromtry?
Was diagnosed with asthma about 5 years ago after an RTI but never had spiromtry before today. Went in for tests today and they were NORMAL - despite me being obviously unwell (currently on clarithromycin and nearing the end of second consecutive prednisone short course and still little improvement

Asthma U.K. advice on seeking urgent care
This advice, just posted by Asthma U.K. really worries me! It says call 111 and tell them how often you use Ventolin and that it is not helping sufficiently. For me this doesn’t work. I am terrible at remembering to use Ventolin. Not totally hopeless, but terrible. I have to tell myself, remember to

Salamol
Hi everyone I normally use Salbutamol (as well as Seretide 250) but I found a Salamol easy-breathe inhaler in a drawer last week I got last year. Used it for a few days instead of my usual Ventolin but stopped as I developed a wheezy chest which is unusual for me and also had trouble sleeping last night

Currently under investigation for asthma
Hi guys, I'm just looking for advice. 18 month ago I had a bad chest infection for about 3 month, over Xmas. I got over it in the January 2019 but since then was left with a lingering wheeze on slightly forced excitation. Several trips to the GP over the same year, I keep getting told there's nothing

Chest tightness/pain
Hi, After a virus that ended a while ago, my usually well-controlled asthma has become a problem again. Chest tightness is present most of the time and is painful because it’s so intense. Is there anything I can do to lessen it? Ventolin helps but the intense chest tightness soon returns. It’s like

Copd/pulmonary fibrosis
Hi all, I have copd and pulmonary fibrosis and over the last month I've gone down hill dramatically. Prior to Christmas I could walk round the house, manage a very small walk in the town, although I needed a taxi into town. Over 6 weeks, I've gone from that to not even being able to walk from 1 room
