Super treatment, slightly high haematocrit so had a
venesection
which cleared the fog and the headache I've had for the last week. I met up with a delightful lady again ( I see her every time I go as she attends the clinic weekly) who has a rare form of leukaemia.

'Watch and wait'
Hi all I was diagnosed with PV, Jak2+ in 2014. Since then I've just been on aspirin and venesections when needed. Other than that, I'm checked every three months by the haematologist. So, it's basically a policy of 'watch and wait'. Just recently I've been reading a few articles from doctors advising

Advice needed
I had an annual health check at my GPs at the beginning of the week - yet more blood tests! My GP called today to say she is concerned about the results of one of the tests. That being my cholesterol level. My cholesterol is currently 6.5 ~ I've no idea what my good cholesterol level is. I forgot to

Blood results
Hi so I was diagnosed with PV about 9 months ago. I've been having venesections only and aspirin, initially these were weekly then they have just started to move so they are now every 8-10 weeks. What we've seen is while the HC and platlets have stabilised at around 0.42 and 450-500 I've had a drop

Constant venesection problems
My question is why isn't a cannula automatically used for
venesection
? Is there any specific reason why they use
venesection
over a cannula? Wishing you all a wonderful day. Karina

A bit confused
I had my first
venesection
4 weeks ago and am now on coated Asprin daily. They had a real problem getting blood for the
venesection
as my blood was very thick and sticky despite rehydrating like crazy for 3 days before.

Platelets 890, Hcrit 0.49, Low Iron. Treatment options?
I'm posting because I've had a search and can't seem to find many people in a similar situation. I'm only 24, reasonably fit, no other conditions and don't smoke. I used to be in the low risk group but apparently now with high Hcrit and platelets I've been bumped to high risk and they want to start me

Thank you.
Now no time for a
venesection
. The only med I am on is Aspirin. So, I have been hydrating like crazy hoping this will make a difference in my HGB. I purchased a meter back in the states which allows me to check my own HGB. I did not get a chance to use it before we left.

My journey back to health
I was diagnosed with PV in May 2013 and immediately needed venesections to bring my hematocrit levels down , it was only by chance that I discovered this disease on visiting my doctor she told me I could have a free blood test and a week later needed an urgent appointment with the nurse for
