Poor Conversion T4 to T3 update and supplement advice (Magnesium, Vit B complex, Vit C)
Nearly two months after my Medichecks blood tests and c5 weeks after GP blood test results (see previous posts) I've managed to get an answer from my GP - he has consulted the Endo at local hospital who says I'm a poor converter... Apparently current NHS guidance is to increase the amount of T4 I'm

NHS Attitudes on Worth of Life
My deep apologies to everyone for this post but I think it’s going to be a long one. Partly about PA and partly on NHS attitudes I am encountering about the worth of life. Warning for sensitive members, this post might be shocking. So you will know me through my posts regarding seizures and both neurological

A question about blood pressure
I recently had two episodes of a fast pulse rate following migraine and triptans taken to relieve it. With this came two readings of high blood pressure - - 181/98 and 179/110. I decided to contact the GP just to check on this and he agreed the fast heart rate could have been a reaction to the triptans

Hello, I know this question has been addressed in various ways before, but it would still help me to share my concern and see responses from the community. Thyroid and cortisol results
Hi all, just got results back from latest NHS bloods. Any thoughts? This was primarily to try and 'verify' my private blood test results showing above-range TSH (6.1) and high antibodies. Test was done just before 9am, fasting, currently not on any meds, no biotin week before. I also asked for serum

OT calcium in the LAD on PSMA scan.
I am 56 yo s/p RARP with negative margins 1/2014, now with BCR, PSA .21. My urologist recommended psma scan. The scan was normal except for “calcium vs stents in the LAD”, I don’t have stents. Have you all seen this? How commonly do these scans detect other diseases?

What should I be doing about tapering prednisolone?
Hello again, good people. I posted a few weeks ago when newly diagnosed and have learned a lot from your advice but I think I need a bit more. I said then my GP wanted me to begin a taper from 15mg prednisolone after a month to 10mg. At 4 weeks on pred (last Thursday) I had bloods taken - ESR 8, CRP

Calcium Hyroxyapatite caps: Does anyone take them and please give pros and cons if you can.
I took NOW calcium hydroxyapatite caps 500 mg daily until about a year ago. After going through the bottle containing 120 capsules, I started on Solaray calcium magnesium 2:1 ratio (containing calcium amino acid chelate complex, calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide/ magnesium amino acid chelate complex

Calcium, confused
Yes, many posts on calcium, to take or not to take. Tall Allen has posted research results on the efficacy and stated that calcium supplements are not necessary if your levels are correct from a blood test.My level of calcium in 2021 was low in spite of using a Mediteranean diet and no supplements. Zometa with or without Radium 223?
Hi I have done 1 year with Zometa alongside Docetaxel and more recently Radium 223. I'm halfway through the Radium 223 course but have been advised that after a year, Zometa has reached maximum effectiveness and should be stopped. After a rocky start I'm feeling much better and much less frail.

Coming off Naproxen safely?
Hi After 3 doses of Radium 223, my pain and general core strength seems to be improving after a rocky start. I'm also taking low dose Dexamethasone. I'd like to come off Naproxen gently and just take Paracetamol. I'm taking 2 x500 mg a day after meals. I'd be grateful for any experience or advice

an anniversary
hi! Today is the second anniversary of my heart attack. (Nstemi). From reading others’ posts, I’ve been quite lucky. I ended up with 5 relaxing days in hospital, during the pandemic, plugged into many wires, with lovely caring nurses, and an angiogram/ angioplasty which revealed two 80% blocked coronary

PMR confusion over drug timings
Hi, I have PMR and been taking prednisolone for about a year, trying to reduce and now on 9mg daily. I take Omeprazole in the early morning, before Pred. and then the calcium chew. I have seen on these posts recently that the calcium should not be taken near to the Pred as they do not react well with

Tapering much harder the second time around.
Been on pred since Nov 2015 for PMR. Few issues with flares and reached 4.25mg in 2021 when to ER for hypoxemia/ asthma exacerbationafter flu shot 2 weeks before. Got loaded up on steroids in hospital for 4 days and sent home with Rx 40, 30, 20 mgm decreasing weekly. I have now secondary adrenal insufficiency

blood pressure
I have coronary artery disease, two stents. I take Candestarten for high BP, had to stop taking Amlopodine as I was allergic to it, my BP is high at top and normal at bottom reading. Wondered if anybody knew of a Calcium Channel Blocker that has minimum side effects,

Thyroidectomy
Just had my thyroid removed two days ago. Had very sudden growth of nodules (over 5cm) and had large nodules on both sides. So only option was complete removal. Not sure what to expect now. Started on calcium and Euthyrox (100ug) (Levothyroxine). Feel OK, a bit buzzy and lightheaded but I guess that
