I have coronary artery disease, two stents. I take Candestarten for high BP, had to stop taking Amlopodine as I was allergic to it, my BP is high at top and normal at bottom reading. Wondered if anybody knew of a Calcium Channel Blocker that has minimum side effects,

Hello
I think all medications can have side effects and what suites one may not suite another
I take Candesartan and I am ok on that some others I have not yet others have
Talking with your Doctor and seeing what they suggest might be best tell them what do they find has the least side effects they usually know and keep going till you get the right combination for you
Let us know how you get on x
All medication has side effects, everyone tolerates drugs differently so some get, some don't. It's difficult to say what you consider 'minimum' side effects because it is so individual.
It's like with food and drink - I know people that will avoid dairy because it makes them gassy, but then there are people who will drink alcohol despite knowing the hangover that will get them in the morning. Both these people have weighed up their options and decided what was worth putting up with.
It works the same with medication... and we all react/tolerate differently. I might take a bad reaction or sure effects to a CCB that you can take with no bother at all.
I suggest you discuss this with your GP who will have access to your medical records and is qualified and able to change your medication if that is decided to be necessary.
This needs to be reviewed by your GP. When I had issues, my GP referred me to the pharmacist at the GP practice as like you I have issues with certain medications. Thankfully given a bit of 'pull and push' with dosages, I've now got a good balance.
All medications, (supplements and foods, too!), can have side effects. If you can link a reaction you are having to a particular medication then discuss this with your GP who can suggest an alternative. BP medications are notorious for causing side-effects, so you are not alone. My partner trialled four or five different CCBs before finding one that suited him, having also previously worked out after years of bad experiences that he could not tolerate any meds or supplements that included calcium in their formulation. Don't put up with uncomfortable side-effects as there are nearly always alternatives, or even dosage changes, which will help.
