Benefit of Urso
As I’m already on
Urso
for PBC I got rather excited. I’m not going to throw a Christmas party, but I feel a lot safer than I gave for about 3 years. Happy Christmas!

Urso/UDCA and Omeprazole
Hi, I was just given Omeprazole to take once daily (mornings) - is it ok to take it at the same time as my
Urso
, or does there need to be a gap?

Covid MRNA vaccine and PBC
Treatment with
URSO
and bezafibrate keeps things reasonably stable. I believe in vaccines so have taken 4 Covid shots up to April 22.Soon after April dose I developed very bad pains in hips, thighs, shoulders and upper arms.

Obeticholic acid
Unfortunately I am not fully responding to first line treatment
Urso
. The Dr's are suggesting that I should start on Obeticholic Acid. I'm a little apprehensive due to the side effects listed. Is there anyone here who could advise please? Tia 😊

Liver test results normalised with gut microbiome approach
The liver specialist is still going to do a Fibroscan to check the liver, but said otherwise all he has to do now is keep prescribing
Urso
as the PBC is well controlled with the supplementation and dietary changes implemented by the naturopath.

I figured out why I couldn't tolerate antibiotics (caused severe burning) after developing SFN from B12 Deficiency
TL;DR I was able to succesfully use Uva Ursi and Antibiotics by combing them with an antihistamine (Uva Ursi and the antibiotics previously caused severe burning sensation of my skin.) Trimethoprin and Doxycycline were not having a direct toxic effect on my nerves, but were causing mast cells to further

PBC/AIH1 Positive
Just as I was wrapping my head around my April PBC diagnosis and taking
Urso
(which does seem to me improving my liver enzyme levels) a liver biopsy also confirmed that I am also positive for autoimmune hepatitis type 1 (AIH1). I know PBC and other autoimmune conditions tend to run in packs.

Help with my conditions
I am on
Urso
but have recently had a Fibroscan which has said I have advanced fibrosis. I asked the nurse who rang me what this means. She didn't give me much of an answer other than lose weight and do exercise.

Lfts are still up
The Dr said he was going to start me on
Urso
if still positive after hepatic panel that he wanted me to do in the first week of Nov. Does pbc present this way with the other lft's increasing dramatically too?
