Post transplant 5 mos no energy
I am the only careprovider of my husband who received a kidney transplant over 5 months ago. First 2 months were great, and then problems arose and all is fine now except for low hemoglobin. I give him "Procrit" 3X a week by injection (he shakes so badly is reason for he gives 4X a day insulin shots

INR 13.9 today
I’ve just come home from the Warfarin clinic. A finger prick test showed 8+ then a Venus test showed 13.9. I was given oral vit K then sent home and told to be careful. Any bruising/bleeding go to A&E. I feel queasy and am having palpitations and feel very tired. (The specialist was informed) My target

INR levels - how do you stabilise them!
Hi, my first post after joining and it’s a long one, sorry! I’m 46 and had an 8 hour emergency surgery having no idea that I had a heart problem. They found I had a bicuspid valve, dilated aortic root and ascending aorta (5.1cm). I had a graft of the ascending aorta and mechanical aortic valve replacement

Pain in Ball of Foot
I am suffering from pain in the balls of my feet when walking etc. Ok mostly when resting, bad when walking. Google suggests metatarsalgia. If anyone has any experience of how to relieve symptoms I would be grateful. Online suggestions say rest and manage weight - I wish! Should add bloods were good

Rhubarb in season now 😁
I made a rhubarb crumble tonight with some Rhubarb a friend gave me out of her garden. The only thing that puts me off rhubarb is that it is so tart that you have to add sugar. Instead of sugar I added 4 dates I chopped up into the cooked rhubarb to add sweetness and I think it worked very well. I didn

What are your symptoms when your INR is high?
Yesterday I had an INR of 9.8 and was experiencing crippling chest pain as well as random pains in my head (like having a knitting needle poking into my brain) I was given vit K and rushed to the main hospital. My kidneys weren’t producing much urine and what they did produce was thick and dark. In

Re-coagulation by stopping Warfarin: how long?
The last time I was re-coagulated was with Vitamin K intravenously while in hospital prior to an operation to remove my appendix. I recently had a diagnostic colonoscopy which found 4 polyps in my colon, so I'm having another colonoscopy in 13 days time for them to be removed, for which I need to have

Can supplementing Vitamin K cause atrial fibrillation?
I've recently had phases of palpitations , on and off through the day since a stressful event . I have a pulsemeter and it cycles up fast to 120 or so and then down again to normal or to low-58-64. Sometimes it seems to be because I've underdosed with T3 because of very cold weather. But not always

Went on Prednisone today
Hi, everyone! I went on 60 mg of prednisone today and heard taking Vit K was good for me. How much would be safe to take? I've already been taking Vit D 4, 1800mg of calcium w/ magnesium & zinc. I've also been taking Folic Acid and Omega 3 Fish Oil. It's only been 4 hours since I started, but tomorrow

This all seems very complex. I’ve been advised to avoid vit. K on Apixaban. Didn’t know different types and all these posts have got me more mithered than reassured.

So after extensive reading of posts and articles the general consensus is to reduce the chances of progression and symptoms of et eat an anti-inflammatory diet this includes eliminating nightshade veg such as potatoes, tomotoes, peppers and abugines. One of the alterative to no nightshade veg is sweet

Marshmallow Root and Pred
Some years ago, I had a very irritating cough. It was a tickle right in the corner of my throat and caused strong bouts of coughing, often for no apparent reason but sometimes just a sip of water would set it off. I was diagnosed by various doctors with allergies, acid reflux and post nasal drip but
