Hi all, Im sat having a cuppa, nice and chilled and my heart suddenly started to Labour. You can see it bumping through my clothes. Is this usual? I’m feeling fine if a bit lethargic. It goes as fast as it came on? I’m have Paroxysm AF. I’m on statins, pradaxa and 10 mg of bisoprolol. All the meds suit

Cholesterol Results
Just got blood results back for other reasons other than cholesterol. Bit doc did the lot anyway! my question is that I've noticed my triglycerides level says Above average..I'm a bit surprised by that one bearing in mind I've been on 40mg statins since last May. And before I started taking statins

Oat Beta-Glucans with APS
Hi all, My cholesterol level is slightly raised and I’m keen to see if I can reduce it without the need for statins through a few key healthy diet modifications and regular exercise, as well as the gentle introduction of the some cholesterol reducing foods, and regular INR monitoring. I wondered if

CoQ10 and RA
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26342738 ..Conclusion: This study showed beneficial effects of CoQ10 supplementation on inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in rheumatoid arthritis patients. I think this is generally a useful supplement to take especially for anyone over 40ish. Heart, Blood

Not sure if my recent attacks of these blighters is anything to do with my stents and medication? I did use to get them before, but not this bad.....maybe it is just bad luck, has anyone else had problems after heart procedures or being on meds? I am now only on blood thinners and statins. Can't even

Post stent muscle aches.
I had a HA 4 weeks ago and had 2 stents in same artery. My best Friend also had a HA 10 days before me and had 2 stents put in aswell. I sometimes get dull aches in my left arm when resting(no chest pain). My Friend says he gets the same thing. This doesn't happen when I exercise. I walk around an hour

Statins and muscle pain or weakness.
If this is true and my time on statins..has supported this..my question is...Isnt the heart a muscle? Wouldn't statins cause problems with the heart muscle as well ? If it affects the muscles in other areas of your body?

Over-the-Counter Adrenal Supplements: More Than Meets the Eye
A short paper reflecting on OTC Adrenal Supplements. I very much agree that proper labelling and, in so far as practicable, accurate description and assay, are highly desirable. [i]

Atorvastatin and anxiety update
Hi, I posted three months ago about having symptoms of anxiety and depression (excessive sweating, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, weight loss, bad dreams, restlessness at night) that I thought might be linked to Atorvastatin. I had been switched from Simvastatin (which I don't think caused any side effects

To take Ramipril - or not - that is the question?
Hi All, I'm fairly new but must say that I'm impressed with this forum. It seems like almost everyone on here is constructive and supportive and it's a brilliant place to visit when your health issues get you a little down. Last July (at age 55) I went in for an angiogram after having some strange

Alternatives to Aspirin ?
What are the alternatives to aspirin? I have been on 75mg dispersable aspirin for the last 3 years after a HA, but over the last couple of months I have been experiencing stomach pains and cramps and general abdominal discomfort. My GP has prescribed Omerprazole but it has not helped! I am also on Ezitimibe

The Challenge of Finding the 'Best' Diet - Vegan or .... ??
Hello Everyone I know this is a perennial question and there is SO much (often contradictory) info out there on the Net - from both more and less 'reputable' (scientific and unscientific) sources - but I am trying to figure out what might be the better of choices into the future. I saw this video on
