Tracheostomy
My husband is still sedated and on the tracheostomy. His oxygen level is still 35% and he requires the ventilator. It has been 5 weeks now since he is in icu and no progress and I am worried.

AF and Surgery
What happens if you have AF controlled by tablets and for any reason need an operation and anasthesia I was reading on intent you can have a bigger risk of clots and stroke. The anticoagulants help minimise it but then you could bleed excessive. any comments

Anxiety / PTSD in Lockdown
Hey guys, so I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety & depression for around 12 years and PTSD for 4 and I’ve really been struggling with my mental health during this lockdown. I’ve found that my panic attacks have gotten more frequent and I just can’t stop intrusive thoughts breaking me down pretty much everyday

The Actemra journey ...
Hello Everyone, It’s been several weeks since I was on here seeking advice about the PET scan and its efficacy in regard to GCA diagnosis. Because my CRP was 110 and ESR 53, Rheumatologist suspected GCA because, at 10mgs pred, the bloods were still high. She was right, and large vessel vasculitis

Strategies for keeping vitamin K intake constant
Hi all, I would love to know how many of you are able to maintain relatively constant K intakes for consistent INR? I've been on Warfarin for around 11 weeks and struggling with it. Before my clots I was a bit random with my intake and probably could say didn't eat much greens. When I was out on Warfarin

Hello, I'm new here.
Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forum and want to say hi. I had my pulmonary emboli in Aug. 2018 and was formally diagnosed with APS about a year and a half later, though unofficially in Feb. 2019. I have a great hematologist, whom I like and trust, but I've only recently learned much about APS. For example

After Radiation Issues
Hello my dad had radiation to his humerus and hip area. About 6 weeks ago. He says he doesn’t notice any pain relief instead he feels more tired and same amount of pain and burning. I asked the Radiation Oncologist and urologist and they seem puzzled and said they have never heard of that? I looked at

Possible symptomes of APS or Warfarin?
Hi all. I'm new to all of this and really struggling to understand and manage my anxiety. I was diagnosed with a DVT and PE 10 weeks ago and was placed on Warfarin. At the time they said it was unprovoked but I've subsequently had a positive result for APS. A month into taking Warfarin, I started to

Starting Warfarin
Hello everybody I hope you are all keeping safe. I have been taking the anticoagulant Riveroxaban but have had numbness in my feet and lower legs. My cardiologist doesn’t think that the Riveroxaban is the cause of this but it did start at the same time as starting the anticoagulant. I was thinking of

Driving
When I’m stressed out I get fatigue physically but mostly mentally, driving can get drowsy at times and sometimes tunnel vision which is dangerous. That gives my anxiety about going on the road again.

Covid 19 & Presence of Lupus anti-coagulant?
Please could someone explain the info, re Presence of a lupus-anticoagulant may explain prolonged activated partial thrpmboplastin time in Covid 19. Does this mean those of us with APS who have the lupus anticoagulant antibody and are on Warfarin because of previous clots, are more protected or less

Chronic use of Senna
I have IBS-c and have used Senna fruit tablets, 2 at night fairly constantly over 6 months. Some research papers say it shouldn't be used chronically as it can cause a lazy bowel but others say there is no good evidence that Senna fruit can damage the colon. Has anybody any experience of long term use

Blood too thick, blood too thin, what a mess I’m in!!!!!
I do not have a diagnosis of Hughes Syndrome - APS!!!! However, I have been on Warfarin since 1993 (for 12 months) and went on it for life in 1996 after repeated episodes of DVT and PE. I had a 4 month spell on Apixaban in 2019 but it seemed to worsen other health issues so it was discontinued.

Actemra info
As I said in previous post I've had severe arm pain, fluctuating bp, dizziness & fainted a few times, extra heart beats. My labs came back almost normal today. ESR and CRP are normal, but arms are so painful. I'm sure I am in a flare. Rheumy wants me to see primary asap. Hmmm. Needed more info. So

Is Vitamin K the Secret Key to Bone Strength?
When we think of strong bones, we usually think of milk, a rich source of the nutrients that promote bone density: calcium and vitamin D. But we may be overlooking another important nutrient created closer to home—in our own gut, to be exact. Vitamin K produced by certain types of bacteria that colonize
