Will IMRT give some relief to very painful bone mets?
My husband is in excruciating pain from the numerous pca bone mets on the spine, shoulder, chest and is now doing 20 IMRT sessions for palliative pain relief. We have done several chemo combination over the past 5yrs but cancer just kept progressing. This is his first ever radiation since diagnosis

To ARi or not to ARi, that is the question
I had a 12/22 .71 PSA, 6mo doubling time and PSMA confirmed 5mm met in right pelvic lymph node (after prior failure of RP and fossa IMRT to “cure”). I have been on Orgovyx for a month and start 28 sessions of IMRT to the pelvic lymph nodes with boost to known met next week. Tolerating Orgovyx very well

Looking for a good Urologist at UCLA or in Los Angeles Area
I am getting some bleeding in my urine. Three times now... always at the end of the stream. My primary care doc is telling I need to see a Urologist. It may or may not have anything to do with my prostate cancer. I think probably not, but then again everything does. Had IMRT radiation treatment

MRIdian/ViewRay compared to Ethos/Varian
I'm looking at 20 IMRT treatments from one of the above delivery mechanisms. Based on my limited understanding, MRIdian will track the position of the prostate in real time and stop the radiation if any movement of the prostate occurs. The Ethos benefit appears to be the ability of doctors to create

Apalutamide (Erleada) Only Lasted 6-7 Months! What Next?
After being on Apalutamide, Lupron, & Xgeva, since April of 2022, & PSA drop from 7.3 (extensive bone mets.) & a drop to 0.1 (for 2 mons.), PSA rose to 0.6 over 3 mon. w/o lab work because doing so well. So, don't know exactly when it started to rise but the rate of increase is geometric! MO wanted

newly diagnosed with high cholesterol
I’ve just decided to take statins after poor cholesterol results - 7.1 overall, ‘bad’ around 4, always been against them but worried lifestyle/diet changes not enough. Think might have famial type as mother always had very high levels despite healthy diet. but brother won’t get tested!

First ever PSMA scan shows two small bone lesions
I recently posted about my father who had just completed IMRT and three years of Lupron (no mets seen on bone/CT scans). At the time his MO was suggesting adding Zytiga per studies showing its effectiveness with ADT at diagnosis for localized high grade cancer (he is Gleason 9). MO also ordered PSMA

Radiation and Large Median Lobe
I went to my first Urologist appointment because of urinary problems. A DRE discovered a lump that was diagnosed as Gleason 7 (3+4). It was also discovered that I had a large median lobe that was likely the cause of my slow stream and urgency. There was a discussion between my Urologist (wanted to

A tip for Australians with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia trying to access pneumococcal vaccination through the National Immunisation Program
What a morning I've had to get my third pneumococcal vaccine. I'll share the details here as the solution I found could help others with CLL in Australia who are having difficulty accessing these vaccines through the National Immunisation Program (NIP). In Australia, since 1 July 2020, it's standard

IMRT WITHOUT SPACEOAR PROTECTION (EPE) WORRIED ABOUT RECTUM PROBLEMS (PROCTITIS) & IMRT (20x,28x,???) vs SBRT
I am going to have to have IMRT for 20 treatments at UCLA as opposed to the 5 Sbrt treatments as the EPE on reread on my Biopsy identified the extracapsular extension. Suitable drugs for hypertension
I am due to see my GP on Wednesday and I know we will be having a conversation about my raised blood pressure (in the region of 159/70). I already know calcium channel blockers are not good for RLS and I cannot take beta blockers which make my heart go much too slow. Could any of you good folk give
