I am getting some bleeding in my urine. Three times now... always at the end of the stream.
My primary care doc is telling I need to see a Urologist.
It may or may not have anything to do with my prostate cancer.
I think probably not, but then again everything does. Had IMRT radiation treatment for oligometastatic about 10 years ago. PSA seems reasonably stable. But who knows.
I am a recent arrival to Los Angeles.
So who are some good prostate cancer urologists at UCLA that you can recommend?
Or actually anyone in the Los Angeles area? But I do have a favorite place in my heart for UCLA.
Thanks

PS: Any urologists at UCLA (or in Los Angeles in general) that you would recommend that I avoid?

Mine is Leonard Marks at UCLA. Scar tissue can slough off and cause some bleeding even many years later. If it goes away on its own, I don't worry about it.
Hi, So sorry about that! Could likely be a result of radiation--which I've learned is often delayed. Husband had a very intense round of bleeding this summer, which lasted several months. We did go to our local (Ventura County) urologist who did the catheter thing, thought it might be damage to the bladder, but he was surprised the bladder looked perfect. The bleeding was coming from the prostate. He gave him finistride which hubs took for about 4 months. It did stop the bleeding in about a week. It was very scary, though! Good luck!
Yep, my husband has had the bleeding too. Scares the wits out of him but it's cystitis and radiation induced. If Les has a little bladder infection, he'll get blood in his urine. Bactrim takes care of it.
SBRT 2017, 2019 blood in urine, like Tall says, probably scar tissue by appearance , but still had CT scan of kidneys bladder, all good. Urologist said Vit E & Pentoxifylline (Trental) , skipped the cystoscobe and about 3 weeks all good. Now same as yours small amount at end of stream. I do believe that this occurs more when I am dehydrated after drinking too much coffee/alcohol and little water…just my thoughts
I had my first bout with Radiation Cystitis in August 2022 after Brachytherapy and IMRT in 2004. Gross hematuria with blood clots. To rule out the bad stuff, I had a Urogram and Cystisiscope. Drink plenty of water to flush out the clots. If it starts to block, take a hot Sitz Bath; relax and pee away. It won’t hurt you and it prevents a trip to the ER to be catheterized. I have had four occurrences since. Nothing in last two months. Good luck.
