Which answers my own question “why are they wanting to fit a PEG when its just been a week and a bit since his tracheostomy was removed?” I personally believe they want the bed.

They fitted a tracheostomy after he regained consciousness to give him more independence. He is now in a rehabilitation clinic since mid-December - where he began to engage more and more with his therapies. We are now 3 months since his stroke and he continues to make progress.

Hi, I have just come out of hospital with pneumonia and sepsis and now there saying my kidney isn’t working proper again I have a tracheotomy I just feel so down!! 😭

She received little to any tracheostomy care in the community, and she started to struggle with granulation and mid July she was admitted for early decannulation. They decannulated on July 25th, she was discharged July 26th and unfortunately she suffered a repeat event on July 27th.

Hi everyone, just after a little bit of insight if possible? My dad is 65, he had a bad fall and broke 8 ribs just over 2 weeks ago. He was put in the icu almost immediately as he needed surgery to repair his ribs on the right side as one had pierced his lung. That all went well then unfortunately just

They keep trying to wake him up but he keeps getting delirium and confused so they tried a different medication (not sure if it’s name) to try and subside the confusion but unfortunately it hasn’t been successful, there are now talks about putting a tracheostomy in as WE STILL DO NOT KNOW THE DAMAGE

He remained this way (sedated) for around 13 days, before the medical team did a tracheostomy. My fathers right lung is the problem.

Hi so just an update, my dads had his tracheotomy fitted 2 days ago and they woke him up today, he’s still very confused but he is a lot calmer than he was! He was miming words to us like I love you which was nice to see but he had episodes of like blanks, like staring at the ceiling and like rocking

He had a tracheostomy for weeks. Good thing he is showing little movements of arms and legs but still in coma. It was hard not to be with him to take care of him. He is in Scotland and I am here in the Philippines. But keeping my faith that he will recover anytime soon. 😘

Hi, my husband had a massive stroke in December and is still in hospital, he has a tracheotomy and is fed by a rig in his tummy, he is bowel incontinent, he can’t sit up or walk so is mostly bed ridden. Hello There My dad was admitted due to some infections and he was also suffering from dehydration problem so they were put him on sedation and ventilator for a week and after completion of week they planned to remove ventilator so stopped sedation but my father was not waking up so they told us to do tracheostomy

found me on floor and phoned the ambulance and taken to hospital later found out it was ulcerative colitis.which I was in a semi coma for a while and when I woke up,I had a stoma and aa bag attached to my stomach and found out I got pneumonia one of my lungs collapsed and lost all my muscle and had a tracheostomy

She has had a ct scan & a tracheostomy and the cancer has been confirmed. We are awaiting a pet scan. Despite saying initially that they could only see a small growth on her left lung from the CT they’ve now said they can see a few spots on her liver. They have also mentioned T4 & N0.
