Just come out of hospital
Hope someone with some knowledge comes along soon x x x feel better soon
I hope you’ve been sent out with some support and follow up care, and not left to just deal with all this by yourself?
I really hope you have been given the support and care you need to deal with this, please try to take things way and any worries you may have no matter how small please seek medical help and advice. You have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

What have they offered as a plan of care for your kidney condition, and is the tracheotomy temporary? Keeping you in prayer. J
Oh Vickstervic you have been through such a lot with the pneumonia and sepsis. That in itself is huge. It sounds like you had a kidney issue before when you say "again" In terms of the trach I have a trach. And it is a big adjustment. I do hope that it is temporary and it won't be long until you have it removed. Give yourself time to pick up a bit from all that you have gone through. I hope that you have good support around you and life looks better for you soon. Thoughts, prayers and hugs from Oz.
I have my tracheostomy since I was a newborn and still got it I don’t mind it at all as I know I am more lucky and it helps me a lot especially when am unwell really and I have been told it won’t be removed any time soon but it’s fine an independent with it all but it scared me on Monday with the pneumonia and sepsis it was my birthday too! X

I was in hospital last November with sepsis and pneumonia. Blood tests showed up loss of kidney function also .Seemingly this can be connected to my IPF. I am having no treatment apart from rest etc.I have had a kidney scan and been referred to a Renal consultant but my appointment isnt till April!Hope they sort you out soon.x
I had kidney stones 2 years ago and last Monday I have pneumonia and sepsis and now there saying they want to monitor my renal function now after 2 years but on the blood tests it shows I have a kidney function problem xx
Welcome to the forum Vickstervic.
It's not surprising that you feel down, anyone would after pneumonia but you've also survived sepsis which is a huge shock for your body to cope with. I know from experience it can take months to get back to ones normal after pneumonia let alone sepsis which will be more serious and take longer.
Could you give the British Lung Foundation help line a call: 03000 030555 UK office hours they have trained nurses to give you guidance on what to expect from your medical team and self help. Please ring today.
You definitely need support, I hope you've loved ones nearby.
In the meantime if you smoke please stop. Smoking inhibits healing and your immune system - which will be rock bottom leaving you open to every bug going. Avoid situations/people where you could pick up germs.
I hope they gave you the pneumonia vaccination to help prevent you getting that again.
Eat as healthily as you can little and often.
Take a good tonic daily for a couple of months to help rebuild your immune system. Treat yourself with kid gloves and tlc.
If I were you I'd also take at least 20 billion probiotics daily for 3 months but that's me, good GPs use to prescribe them along side antibiotics.
Don't hesitate to come back here to ask/tell anything you like, we're also patients who've had various hurdles to overcome too. Yours is a biggy and very tough to do on your own. P
Sending you a big hug
Your kidney might recover? Visualise it healing .....you never know as you gain strength it might too. Try to calm and not fight it all. What will be will be and your best chance to recover will be enhanced by your approach....sending calming thoughts .
Not a very good picture for you, no wonder you feel down. However on the good side there are drugs to help these days. A freind of mine went through what you have and sadly it makes you feel like not bothering anymore, but she picked up . So heres wishing a bit of recovery once your health issues are stabalised.
Vickstervic, you are a real trooper and many who have suffered the things that have befallen you in life would have crumbled long ago,i imagine your kidneys took a battering with the sepsis as their primary function is too eliminate poisons and waste from our body but hopefully with due care and attention they will recover their full function.
