Amino acid complex, is it worth trying?
I have been seeing more and more about amino acids and the possible benefits for those with hypothyroidism. Their importance for conversion, also their benefits regarding liver health. I'm also type2 diabetic, it seems there may be benefits there too. Have any of you looked into this? If so are there

Pain relief advice
Hi, I had a laprocospy in November 2022. Since then I have had a miscarriage and been really struggling with ongoing severe pain and swelling. Awaiting a further laprocospy but this could be 12-18 months before I get a date. I have been contemplating going privately or trying GnRh injections until I

Has anyone taken a non-medication route and seen an improvement in their osteoporosis through only supplements/diet/exercise?
Hello, I have osteoporosis and been advised to take medication - either HRT or Alendronate. However, I as an alternative wondered whether anyone who is not on medication has seen an improvement in their osteoporosis through only supplements/diet/exercise?

Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with PMR just over 2 years ago and have posted on this invaluable site a few times. After high doses of Pred at the beginning with a possible threat of GCA,, which did not occur, I have yo-yoed a bit with stresses in life. However I am currently on 7 and a half mg and

Help needed
Hi I’ve recently been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. Started on Alendronic Acid 70mg and Calcium tablets. In a lot of pain and not coping very well with medication. I need some help and advice from people with this condition. My new dr is not great. Regular gp has retired and temporary doctor at the moment

Sunshiney days.
Should vit D supplements be adjusted when we are out and about in sunshine? Are amino acids worth taking as supplements? All stuff I come across in random readings. Thanks.

Itching for answers.... thankyou!
(Me = 80/JAK2 /ET/Hydroxycarbamide for 13years) I am very grateful to everyone that has replied to my list of queries about itching/pruritis. I have been aware for some years that it is a subject that has been repeatedly raised but felt that there did not seem to be a firm definition of cause or solution

A trick for faster sleeping
Counting backwards can help you fall asleep faster by shifting your focus away from worries and regrets and forcing your brain to stay in the present. Here are some counting techniques that may help you fall asleep: Count backwards from 100 in multiples of three: This rhythm can put you in a sleepy

Is there a chat network for people with osteoporosis in England?
I have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis and my Dr prescribed Alendronic Acid 70 mg once a week, but after reading the side affects of taking it am unsure whether to take them. So far I have only broken my wrist bone about ten years ago when I had a fall, I have small aches and pains and have neuropathy

Alendronic acid tablets 😠
I’ve been taking these for a few months and understand that they have to be swallowed properly, and whilst upright, as they can cause problems in the oesophagus. Does anyone one else struggle with these blooming things, even with loads of water etc. Why oh why do they have to be the size of a horse

My MPN family need help/advice for natural way to treat minor Osteoporosis.
Happy New Year to you all and may it be a great one. I recently had a Dexa Scan and result is minor of Osteoporosis I guess that would be Osteopenia. Suggestion is by my GP to take Alendronic Acid, which after reading information about it raised many questions. Can i take it or there is more kinder

Thin, fragile skin
I thought it might be helpful to post this for those of us with very thin, easily damaged skin. It’s one of the many hazards of long-term, high dose steroid use, including inhalers. Of course, if it weren’t for steroids I wouldn’t be here, so I’m glad they’re available. After decades of steroid use

Is anyone here familiar with metabolomic analysis?
I've heard about metabolomics only recently while listening to a Dr Berg podcast. In short, if I understood correctly, it differs from regular blood tests by looking for the concentration of things (like amino acids, minerals, polyphenol, etc...) within your cells rather than the concentration in your

Treating muscle pain post zoledronic acid infusion
I had my first zoledronic acid infusion just over 24 hours ago. I was recommended to take some paracetamol before bed, which I did. I had some migraine associated visual disturbances just before I turned my light out, but slept through OK. This morning I developed a headache, so took more paracetamol

Having pain for 3/4 weeks
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else struggle with pain when they are not on their period. I struggle with cramps, lower back pain and hip pain the week before my period, the week of my period and the week after so I seem to only get 1 week out of 4 where I'm not in pain. I had an internal ultrasound

Hysteroscopy bleeding
Hi everyone!I had hysteroscopy on 14th of December to remove polyp. It was a but painful (I went without sedation) but bearable and quick. Had no bleeding afterwards. On 19th of December I had my first day of periods, as it was due. And on the second day I had so much blood and so many clots that I went

Omeprazole query
Recently diagnosed and on prednisolone; also prescribed Alendronic acid (weekly dose) and Omeprazole. I thought my GP said that as I have no history of gastric problems to only take the Omeprazole in the evening before I take the alendronic acid the next day. But she has prescribed enough for once daily
