Is free T4 lab necessary?
Hello all, I am being treated for Hashimoto
thyroiditis
. I m only on T3 therapy. My body doesn’t convert T4 at all. My Doctor just died from Complications due to COVID and the NP in the office treating me. My TSH was 0.9 which is good, and my FT4 was 0.02.(0.8-1.7).

Postpartum thyroiditis and ttc
Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone had any experience of ttc with postpartum
thyroiditis
? My story is a long one and I’m going to shorten it as it’s painful to talk about. I lost my daughter at full term in June.

I know it's an autoimmune condition and as I have Hashimotos
thyroiditis
, it's no surprise I now have yet another one. Any advice or benefit of experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thyroid surgery
I have hashimotos
thyroiditis
officially diagnosed. And I have been prescribed levothyroxine even though my TSH is not at 10. My GP listened to the private endocrinologist and the NHS surgeon who both advised due to my TSH being above 2 and with the lump and hashimotos that I need levothyroxine.

Postural Tachycardia syndrome POTS- advice from any sufferers please
I also have hashimotos
thyroiditis
but this is supposably treated now. I feel worse in the mornings. I know it also sounds a bit like postural hypotension, but I've tested my BP and there is no drop on standing it just goes up.

Update
I was told today that I
thyroiditis
by endocrine surgeon. They couldn't tell if my recent biopsy was cancer or not (U3) and he said hard to assess with
thyroiditis
on ultrascan.

Vitamin E and Vitamin B ok to take with Levothyroxine?
Hi, I’ve been diagnosed with postpartum
thyroiditis
. Long and painful story but I lost my daughter full term in June and had a mmc in December. My full term loss was a very rare pregnancy complication - nothing to do with my thyroid - it was 1.08 5 weeks after birth.

Why is Hashimoto's not on my physio's list of auto-immune disorders?
I said Hashimoto's
thyroiditis
. She'd never heard of it so looked it up in her NHS work computer. Not on the list. I had the jab and am fine but am wondering if this is an oversight that needs bringing to someone's attention.

Going from Graves to being hypothyroid without RAI or thyroidectomy
, the spontaneous change from hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism (without ablative intervention with radioactive iodine or overtreatment with anti-thyroid drugs) may occur in two ways: “by the unexpected development of TBAb;” “or because the process of thyroid damage reflected in chronic lymphocytic

How do I get my consultant to agree to increase my T4 dosage?
They finally agreed that I had Hashimotos
Thyroiditis
. I also did the Regenerus DIO2 gene test which showed that I had one of the genes which Thyroid UK suggest causes resistance to T4 conversion. The consultant did not give any credence to this test though.

Chinese herbal medicine against thyroiditis has a clear scientific explanation for its effects
We examined the effects of PV on innate immune activation, which is thought to be one of the triggers for the development of autoimmune diseases, including Hashimoto’s
thyroiditis

I'm falling apart
The doc took blood tests at the time and also discovered I had autoimmune
thyroiditis
and hypothyroidism. At that point, the only symptom I had was the hives. I was put on levo (25mg and subsequently increased to 75mg). Since then, my levels have stabilised.

METAVIVE experience and why I stopped. (a long post sorry!!) Please read and tell me what you think...
In the meantime, after talking to my GP as he requested a blood test for the 19th of February I decided to wait, so after 5 weeks on 3 Met ll in split doses feeling by then very ill with awful headaches, tiredness, and
thyroiditis
I had my blood results (I thought they would be either so low or so high

Is Hashimoto´s a chronic disease or not...?
So I ticked the "yes" box and added "Hashimoto´s
thyroiditis
". Not to end up in the priority group, but just answering the question honestly...the reply I got was "Hashimoto´s
thyroiditis
does not count as a chronic disease". That´s a bit strange, isn´t it...?!

T3 too High? Follow up.
Yes, I know I have autoimmune
thyroiditis
and I sure would like to know WHY. Have been on this perilous and lonely road a long, long time. I was so lucky to consult with Dr Peatfield in 2007 and 2008 otherwise the way may have been darker still...

Obtaining T4 Medication Privately.
I am going to try getting Levothryoxine from my GP but as I never got any help years ago when I self-diagnosed myself with Hashimotos
Thyroiditis
and my health had seriously declined, I generally choose to avoid going to my surgery to keep stress levels to a minimum and just sort it all out myself.
