Hair loss
hi, I had a complete
thyroidectomy
in August of this year. I’ve been on levothyroxine and Synthroid. Today I began taking Armour. I have been losing a massive amount of hair. Has anyone shared this side effect and have suggestions for regrowth? Please tell me this awful side effect doesn’t last!

What could be causing tachycardia?
The T3 that I added to levo in October did lower the cholesterol a lot, but it was still over range, so just to be clear, the Endo did point out that as I did not have
thyroidectomy
for the Graves, I am likely not a thyroid sufferer. I do however have non bioactive TSH, it is still 0.01.

Hoarse voice after thyroid surgery
I would just like to know if anyone else has experienced unilateral vocal fold paralysis following
thyroidectomy
/hemi-thyroidecyomy and whether it improved on it's own? How long it took for some improvement/voice being back to normal? Any advice or insight is appreciated xx

Surgery for Large Retrosternal Thyroid Goitre
I'm due to have a right hemi-
thyroidectomy
next week. Due to the size and location of the mass, thoracic surgeons are going to join the ENT team to perform a mini/full sternotomy as well as the cervical incision.

life after thyroidectomy
Does anyone experience anxiety and jittery feeling after full
thyroidectomy
? I got my thyroid removed 8 months ago in April 2022, and on Levothyroxine (112mg) for the rest of my life. I had severe anxiety and panic attacks before surgery due to hyperthyroidism.

Iodine ~ a collection of useful information ( because the search facility on Health Unlocked is totally pants)
Iodine is used for emergency management of thyroid storm, for hyperthyroid patients undergoing emergency nonthyroid surgery, and (because it also decreases the vascularity of the thyroid) for preoperative preparation of hyperthyroid patients undergoing
thyroidectomy
.

DIO2 polymorphism and reduced conversion of T4 to T3
it shows the reduction in blood levels of T3 in people who have had a
thyroidectomy
and are on T4. The reduction Is greater for homozygous polymorphisms than heterozygous. https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article/102/5/1623/2966904

High PTH through t3?
I had suffered very much years after a
thyroidectomy
in 1996 and was helped by a private doctor in 2017 who titrated me up to Novothyral (125 mcg)and Thybon 20 mcg). My blood pressure, pulse, temperature etc were always normal, rather low, and I slowly had a Life again.
