Teriparatide

I have now been recommended for teriparatide, I hate injections and just wonder how anyone else has fired with this treatment.

Has anyone been successful in obtaining the latest anabolic drug Abaloparatide which is similar to Teriparatide, I would be very grateful to know. Thank you

Hi I had my 1st teriparatide injection Tuesday at 10.30am with nurse. After 15 mins felt shaky and hot but after that ok. After 4 hours felt really tired that night slept differently to normal wKing up alot. Yesterday I did my own injection at 7.45pm as I wanted to change it to evenings.

My mum has been prescribed Teriparatide and has been taking it for around 9 months as her T score was -3.5 but hard to read dexa due to hip replacement and 3 spinal fractures, but given due to spinal fractures.

I’m about to start Teriparatide injections and am quite anxious about it.

Even eating 3 hours or more before bed, she still gets indigestion / heartburn (a sour taste as she puts it), not sure if it’s the Teriparatide but I’d like to reduce that symptoms. Many thanks in advance

After the results from the bone density scan I was offered Teriparatide which I’m been on for 3 weeks . I have a long way to go

I’m scared because I had my first Denosumab injection yesterday afternoon, and all previous treatments gave me side effects (that’s all orals, that wrecked my insides), and then Teriparatide (had to stop after 7 weeks).

Hi, if anyone has been or is being treated with teriparatide brand Movymia I would love to hear your experience of how you use it and how you got on with it.

He immediately suggested Teriparatide. This is a self administered injection with a pen once a day for two years. The NHS would not prescribe this.

Has anyone been through similar or does anyone have any positive stories about Teriparatide to give me some reassurance that things will improve for me. I look forward to hearing for other members. please do not suggest any social media groups as I am not on any.

I finally decided to stop the daily injections, even if just for a drug-holiday. so last night no injection. The relief was instant. I had more strength to go to bed. Was not dizzy anymore and my low mood had vanished. No leg cramps overnight, and I feel rested this morning. 100% better. The side effects

is there anyone out there who has stopped the 18 month Teriparatide treatment halfway through? Or even after a few months? I am really struggling with the side effects: bone and joint pain, lack of energy, etc. I’m on Pregabalin for the pain.

I will finish daily injections in September and have been advised that the next stage will be an injection every six months. Would anyone be able to tell me whether they have experienced side effects? Thank you

I stopped Teriparatide on 11th April because of side effects. 4 days later I got a particularly bad cold that lasted a long time. On 2nd May I had a routine blood test, and it shows my monocytes are out of range 3.2 mole/L) - low. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I’ve recently finished 2 years of Teriparatide injections. Endocrinologist wants me to take Alendronic acid tablets but I’m not keen. Teriparatide is the first treatment I’ve had and osteoporosis classed as severe. One fracture of L2 few years back.

I am wondering if mums bones are not fragile even though they are not dense, (she has never broken anything before the spinal fractures, 1 old, 3 from last year). she is on Teriparatide until approx sept 2025, then they want her to go on Denosumab.

Just wondering if anyone else has experience of both zoledronic and teriparatide treatment at the same time? I find it puzzling because wouldn't the zoledronic negate the superior bone-strength building attribute of teriparatide? As I said I'm a newbie to this so I may be totally wrong.

It's just I read it is advisable to be on Adcal when on Teriparatide but she explained my levels were fine and my cholesterol was high and I had a kidney stone be it small last year. Any thoughts advice would be helpful

I'm wondering if the teriparatide has an accumulative effect, though this is not mentioned in any of the literature. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms? Thanks.
