Asymmetrical Transport of Thyroxine Across Human Term Placenta
This new study https://pure.eur.nl/en/publications/asymmetrical-transport-of-thyroxine-across-human-term-placenta is behind a paywall. I have a copy, it’s not easy to follow but essentially says little T4 crosses the full term placenta from mother to baby but T4 rapidly crosses from baby to mother.

nutritional doctor advice please
Hi all I recemtly consulted a nutritionist about improving my gut health, and I wondered if I could ask for anyone's thoughts on what they are recommending please? For context I am a 40 yr old male, diagnosed in 2020 and still suffer with fatigue mostly. I had a 6 month trial of T3 a year or two back

Proton treatment - fatigue?
Partner is 66 and has Gleason 7=4+3. He began ADT 4 months ago, with 1 month Lupron shot, then Orgovyx. Other than having some ADT mild fatigue, generally later getting up in the morning, sleepiness around 3 pm, and going to bed a bit earlier, things have pretty much been the same. No hot flashes

Treatment Update IMRT with ADT 18 months later
Follow up 18 months later. I am due for another ADT injection in December. Spoke to the Urologist and he feels 18months is enough keeping with the European standard while the Oncologist would like me to stay the course and do the full 2 years. I am in favor of 18 months also, that would be nice. Still

Low hemoglobin, and foot neuropathy common with ADT?
I was on Lupon for six months, three years ago and experienced feet going numb mostly at night and low hemoglobin. Those issues subsided once stopping Lupron for a few months. These symptoms became more acute during the last two years on Orgovyx with hemoglobin dropping to 9. ( I also had four

Vacation from Lupron/Zytiga - Temporary or Permanent!
I have been on ADT (Lupron/Zytiga) for 2.5 years. PSA and testosterone immeasurable currently. Looking to go on "vacation" from meds. History: Gleason 8/9 with a PSA of only 1.89 (on Finasteride). CT/Bone scan did not show any definite metastasis. PSMA PET showed "possible" metastasis in 4 spots

Daft question I’m sure - re NDT and effects of withdrawal
Hi I know this is probably going to be a stupid question. But being a bit cash strapped this month so ran out of NDT 3 weeks ago. I was taking 60mg in conjunction with thyroxine , 75mcg - reason I was put on it was due to poor t3 conversion so whilst my tsh looked over supressed my t3 was always sitting

Starting Abiraterone and predniSONE
Tomorrow morning I take my first dose of Abiraterone (Zytiga) and predniSONE for metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer. I don't know what kind of side effects I would get. I hope I would tolerate the treatment well. Reaching this stage of my cancer I reflect on my 12 year journey with prostate

Orgyvux(relugolix) and Zytiga(abiraterone)
I have a question from one of my support group members. They are currently on Orgyvux. Doc wants to add Zytiga to their treatment. Will the ADT side effects be the same with the addition of Zytiga, or will they become worse? Seems like the side effects would be worse, if T is driven to a lower level

Has anyone whose tried T3 and NDT felt better on just T4?
A little bit of history - thyroidectomy aged 21. More or less fine on just T4 for 20 plus years. I then saw an Endo about parathyroid issues in 2018 at which point he suggested ERFA because he felt lots of my symptoms were related to my thyroid and T3 conversion. Since then I’ve tried many different

Adjuvant ADT & duration
When studies refer to adjuvant ADT with radiation are they counting the length of time from the start of RT or the end of the RT course ? And as previously questioned I didn’t quite get the answer I was looking for. In research when they refer to 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months of ADT, are they counting

Quite happy with ADT
Almost 83 years old, living presently in Germany, RT and PT not possible, ADT during the last 9 months (Lupron quarterly), PSA down to undetectable, quite happy with that.

Covid & dosing
Hi, I tested +ve for covid this morning. It's the first time I've had it. I've had 5 vacs. My temperature is high & I'm taking paracetamol for that.My question is, should I alter my T4/NDT dose? I haven't been ill at all since I started on thyroid meds in 2015. I wondered if I should increase, decrease

Online prescription for getting NDT in UK?
Has anyone had any success getting Armour or ERFA from a UK pharmacy using one of those online prescriptions via a UK online doc?. I usually buy Armour or ERA online from abroad but prices are getting ridiculous and last time got stuck in customs for a month, I was concerned about customs keeping it

Thinking of taking an ADT vacation
Hi, just got my latest PSA result yesterday...it was 0.07 ug/l down from 0.14 ug/l one month ago. I'm almost at the 6 month mark of my ADT journey. Six months ago, my PSA was 14.9 ug/l. I'm thinking of taking a break from the ADT because of the side effects. Is it too risky? Would the PSA start
