Tamoxifen.
Hi everyone. A year ago on Thursday I had diep flap mastectomy and reconstruction followed by six months of chemo. I was lucky( if you can call it lucky) it hadn't moved to my lymph nodes and because my onco type score was low they said I didn't need radiotherapy.. here I am now after 4 months on Tamoxifen

letrozole - how to minimise the side effects
Hi everyone - I have been reading the tamoxifen posts with great interest. I have a weak oestregan receptor (3/10) and on balance my oncologist is recommending starting letrozole (I am post menapausal) which she says I will be on for at least 10 years. Side effects can be nasty though I don't know if

Tamoxifen to take or not to take? (I'm new here)
Hello I'm 41 and was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in May and have just had bilateral lumpectomies and sentinel node biopsy with just two lymph nodes removed from each armpit. I will be starting radiotherapy shortly. I have been advised to start taking Tamoxifen, but told it is my choice whether

Aromatase inhibitors V Tamoxifen
Anyone got any thoughts on whether the change from Tamoxifen to an aromatase inhibitor is the right thing to do? I have been taking Tamoxifen for 5 years and as I am now past the menapause, my oncologist has given me the option of changing from Tamoxifen onto an AH. I don't like being given the choice

Sex steroid induced apoptosis as a rational strategy to treat anti-hormone resistant breast and prostate cancer.
New paper below [1]. It reminds me of a paper I read in 2004-5, but was published years earlier. It was a hypothesis in an obscure journal & certainly not at all influential. The idea was that CRPC cells might find life difficult if testosterone [T] were restored. Exposure to T might select for PCa

Tamoxifen and periods
Hi lovely ladies can anybody tell me if their periods were affected by taking tamoxifen. The oncologist said I'd still have them but this last 3 months have been barely there - not that I'm complaining! I seem to have all the symptoms but no loss. Started on it December 2015. Also been advised to have

Tummy problems 😟
Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. Just wondering if anyone else is suffering from very sensitive tummy- even IBS maybe? I finished chemo late January+ was never sick from it. Had surgery a few months ago, all went well. Started tamoxifen about 2.5 months ago+ since then my tummy just isn't

Change in appetite
Just wondering if any one of you lovely ladies has noticed a change in appetite. I would expect this to happen if I'd had chemo but I only had surgery and radio plus tamoxifen. Initially I put it down to stress then when I started radio I couldn't stand the taste of tea (and I'm a tea belly!). I have

New beginning
After 2 years of treatment for breast cancer and generally feeling sorry for myself I have managed to gain a whopping 2 1/2 stones! I was no skinny Minnie before so have decided enough is enough. Started last week and weighed in today as a loss of 2lbs. I think it will be a slow process as still on tamoxifen

Review day
To all my lovely friends out there thank you for your continued support especially yesterday. I'm very pleased to say that the Radiologist has discharged me this morning. She gave me full examination and listened to my chest and proclaimed me fit. Have to go back once a year for next 5 and being referred

LDN
Seen some chats and research on LDN and it seems like the complete drug for me. Hypo Hashi ; SLE lupus and breast cancer survivor twice. I take T3 only and stopped the tamoxifen, levo and hydrocroxy... not wanting to just throw a load of pills down my neck, with there own side effects. I supplement
