AF
AF /heart failure. I was "accidentally" diagnosed during a preop about 18 months ago. (I'd complained of shortness of breath and other things previously)Both atria affected. To cut the story, I've only been on a blood thinner since, not seen my doctor for 3months and only very recently become aware

So by way of an update:- Fresh from my last
TACE
(second) and the subsequent MRI. I had my meeting with the consultant. He says the
TACE
has worked this time and the tumours have shrunk. They are now at .9 cm and the other is around .5 cm very small.

Worried
Unfortunately it was discovered that he had portal vein invasion so could not have
TACE
. So Sorafenib is the recommended treatment now. For some unknown reason the biopsy was delayed until end of October but unti that was done he could start treatment.

MRI and waiting
So far I have had two
TACE
done. The first did not work too well. The last measurements were 2.6cm and 1.5 cm. My second MRI was done in September and the scan was done last week. I was very scared as the bigger one is near the top measurement of 3 cm.

ACE Inhibitors can cause a decrease in kidney function with Cox 2 Inhibitors
I stopped taking Meloxicam a couple of weeks ago. From searching the web, I read that some doctors prescribe ACE inhibitors (lisopril, quinapril, etc) for CKD. I used a drug interaction checker and it is recommended to not take an ACE Inhibitor along with a Cox 2 Inhibitor (Meloxicam, Celebrex, etc

Any suggestions to manage orthostatic hypotension?
My Dad has been diagnosed with PD - 4 years ago. He is on lc and that controls his tremors and relieves rigidity. When he reduced his lc recently those symptoms were significantly worse. Mostly he manages pretty well in his new home environment, but suffers increasingly with fainting / dizzy spells

Blood Pressure and Kidney Disease
My blood pressure has been hovering 130/80 to 140/95, in last five weeks. My most recent blood work: eGFR = 106, electrolytes well-balanced. My most recent urine check: 0.3g/L Proteinuria, no Hematuria, no Sediments. Is this renal hypertension? I need help, a little scared. How can I drop my BP without

My 41-y-o son with Primary Liver Cancer in Ontario, Canada
My son Stephen is about to have
TACE

Does anyone have experience with the TACE procedure on the liver?
I'm considering the
TACE
procedure for my liver mets (primary cancer was in the small bowel, surgery removed it along with all the places it had spread to - now it has returned with a vengeance to my liver). How effective was it for you and did you have any after effects from the procedure?

Post heart attack meds side effects
Hi I’m 41 and had a heart attack 2 months ago. Although I’m back at work I still get really tired at times and often feel nauseous and light headed. BP is stable so presuming it’s just side effects of ACE inhibitors and beta blockers ??? Has anyone else had similar issues

Elevated Creatinine and ACEi
I found some interesting articles about ACE inhibitors causing creatinine levels to rise! In fact, it seems very common and almost expected. Has any of your doctors ever mentioned this? I wonder if they take this into consideration when looking at creatinine results? I read that a 20% increase in creatinine

Ace Inhibitors and Statins
Hi everyone, I need some advice please. I was called in to see my gp yesterday for the result of my blood test, CKD 3a. My Triglycerides are 2.4, high. He has put me on ace inhibitors with a blood test in 2 weeks as he said I am at risk of cardiovascular disease and will have to go on statins later.

Liver transplant waiting times.
Now he has another one and he has just had
TACE
treatment and may still need ablation too. Although not assessed for a liver transplant, we've been asking how long the wait is. We're being told three years, is that a normal wait?

Ckd 3 diagnosis
I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 ckd. I’m devastated to say the least. I am 52 years old. I have hypertension and have had to use NSAIDS for years for pain. I can no longer use them. My gp thinks this may have cause it. I have tried Tylenol and it seems to make me bleed also. I initially had
