My son Stephen is about to have TACE treatment shortly. He is currently on the Liver Transplant List. He had a resection about 18 months ago but the cancer returned. Can you please share your story since we do not know what to expect. Thank you.

My son had liver cancer this year and was due to have TACE while on the transplant list to keep the tumour small enough but luckily he had a really short wait and got his transplant before they could organise the tace. As my son was only 16 they did give us lots of literature about the procedure and it didn’t sound too bad and only needed a very short hospital stay. Has your son been waiting on the list long?

Dear Evemarie

Welcome to the forum I'm sure you will finds lots of information and support here.

Have you been in touch with the Candian Liver Foundation too? They have a network of peer support groups across Canada and a national helpline so may be able to provide some support a bit closer to home. Have a look at their website: liver.ca/

Best wishes

Good morning, I hope that the web site Trust2 has given you will be helpful. I expect it is not possible for you to call our Helpline to talk about the procedure but just in case - the number is 0800 652 7330
