Selenium methionine and Total Thyroidectomy
Didn't really have problems on t4 only until about 4 years ago, when it was discovered I have hemocromitosis and began regularly having phlebotomies which depleted the iron overload but left my ferritin levels under 50 then I began crashing because I ceased metabolizing

Thyroid and Adrenals both, how to heal?
were very low, so because I couldn’t handle it all anymore, I had to ask around and self medicate for that, not realizing that it could’ve very well have been my taxed, fragile, abused adrenals that were causing the T4 and T3 to be so low... so basically, I’m currently on 50mg of T4 and 25mcg of T3

Update on me
I am on
Synthroid
200 MCG. I have more energy, and am even losing weight. (13 pounds so far). My 'numbers' still show I should be on a higher dose yet. I am pleased the Endo prescribed name brand. I've had hypo thyroid for 20 years.

Lowering Dosage?
My daughter is on 100 mcg. of
Synthroid
everyday and her Endo said it needs to be lowered. So she told my daughter to once a week only take a half tablet. Seems to me that taking 50 mcg one day and six days 100 mcg. doesn't really lower it much. Does anyone have a comment on that.

180 degree thyroid turnaround!
He suggested switching to brand
Synthroid
asking if I could afford it and reassuring me he would justify this recommendation to my insurance company so hopefully they will share the cost. Trust me this is something US doctors don't often concern themselves with.

Stop the Thyroid Madness
I am one of the many that Levothyroxine/
Synthroid
does not relieve us of the multitude of symptoms of this condition. My body does not readily convert the synthetic T4 to the useable T3 that our bodies require.

Requesting advice for Hashimoto's
I have been on
synthroid
ever since then but have still got many of the Hashimoto's symptoms. The most annoying being constant fatigue and inability to lose weight no matter what. I have read Dr.

Feedback loop TSH/T4/T3
It would have saved me much frustration and misery: Why T4-only Treatments Do Not Work (Why We Can’t Dose by TSH and Why We Need T3) August 7, 2014 by barb Many thyroid patients do not feel well when taking only T4 (levothyroxine,
Synthroid
, etc.).

Thyroid Medication Side Effects
This same thing happened to me last year when I started
Synthroid
25 mcg. Could anyone share their experience on starting thyroid meds and what to expect especially regarding weight gain and improvement of constipation symptoms?

Requesting PM with online source for NDT
I have been taking NDT (Erfa) for the last three years after years of complaints on
synthroid
/levothyroxine. I have relocated from Canada to Portugal and cannot get NDT in Portugal. I would appreciate if someone could PM me with an online source.

What to do? Young mother who just got diagnosed with hosimotos thyroiditis.
He put me on
synthroid
25mcg only after me asking for something that might help, he said my symptoms had nothing to do with the disease (I find hard to believe) I've done research but nothing is really helping me understand the whole picture of this disease and if/what it will do to me.

Is there any response to graves besides burn it with RAI?
His first response is lets burn it with RAI and then we can treat it with
synthroid
its so much easier? What kind of ass backwards medicining is this?!?! Is there not at least another method besides pills? You cant grow back a thyroid once you kill it. What happened to healing?
