Recurring Thrush
I had thrush a few weeks ago, came out of the blue as had been feeling well otherwise. I haven't had thrush in over 10 years. I tried the normal over-the-counter treatment but it didn't work, so I spoke to GP and they gave me 3 day course of fluconazole. The thrush came back 2 weeks later, I again tried

Day 19 = some changes
Thank you to everyone for all your best wishes and kind words on these posts about the small person. I’ve got to be honest, I’ve hit the proverbial wall a bit today, so the nurses know not to mind me if they come in and I’m sat in the corner laughing like a loon 👀😂 I’m waiting for the doc to come and

Update
To all those that wished us well for littleun’s first appointment at the RBH on Monday, I just wanted to let you know the outcome. Her fev1 was down to 47% and she very helpfully brought up some disgusting, blood streaked sputum, at which point our new named consultant phoned the bed manager in front

Hello everyone! I return to this blog as one of my last resorts. 7 months ago I had unprotected oral sex. All STIs tests are negative. All the candida tests I did so far (at least 6) are negative. Pharyngeal exudates and nasal exudates came back negative. Blood tests are normal. After more than half

Struggling to get a diagnosis?
I just thought I'd share my 18YO daughters experience here, you never know it may help someone else. I should make it very clear at the outset that I have no medical training and you should definitely check with your medical professional or do your own reading before taking this experience on board.

Is it a fungal infection? I'm new here
I have been fighting ear pain for 4 or 5 years. Every doc I have gone to says "I see nothing." There IS something! It is like 3 or 4 on the pain level. Then, 2 years ago, just when I had an appointment with an ENT, I started a painful white patch along the side of my tongue. He did two biopsies on my

Can Graves' Disease present with lower urinary tract symptoms?
Hello, I was diagnosed with Graves disease back in May 2017. At the time I had a general feeling of unwell, a rapid heartbeat, nausea and excessive sweating. I was put on Carbimozole - my medication eventually lowered to just 5MG every other day, when I was told a month ago that as my levels were 'normal

Worried about discharge
Hello. I’m still waiting on my smear test result (6 weeks down the line now!) but I have lots of clear discharge. SAFS
Hello Has anyone here been diagnosed with SAFS (severe asthma with fungal sensitivity)? I've wondered for a while if I have this since I fit the criteria: I'm on Step 5 asthma treatment, my Ige is less than 1000 but I always have raised reaction to Aspergillius. I definitely have reactions to mould indoors

Probiotics for thrush
I've had recurring vaginal thrush for the past few years. Doctors are useless. I've had it confirmed on various swabs that it's arare, non-albicans strain that "azole" treatments won't cure. So every time it comes back I can't use otc treatments and have to go through the hell of going to the gp, having

The thrush is getting worse, and for the past 3 weeks I have had pain in my stomach, bloating and very smelly wind, indigestion

Hi has anyone ever tried fluconazole? I was given this from my gp to try and combat inhaler voices issues. I took one tablet at 5pm Tuesday night woke up Wednesday with the worst headache and am not having occasional dizzy spells? I have since stopped the drug the side effects are not worth the trouble

Liquid chemo
I have almost lost my voice and now squeak like a little mouse. Saw my consultant today (handy that I work with her) did all the usual bloods throat swab. Started me on course of fluconazole. Started the liquid chemo 2 weeks ago and now on day 11 with no voice, which my husband is loving, no nagging.

My elder brother is diagnosed with HIV in last year October 2017. He had only 9 CD4 cells at that time. He was diagnosed with TB as well. He started TB medication and ART was delayed for first 8 weeks of TB treatment. After 8 weeks when ART started then he started experiencing severe headach and vomit
