High cholesterol...yet again!
At 5' 7" that is not good.....I am always hungry and a diet of deprivation and abstinence is making me miserable My total chol today was 5.48 (HDL 1.49/LDL 3.5) I really don't want to take
statins
because of the side effects, but.........! I am 66, have AF which has been permanent for 4 years.

Valerian Tablets with Heart Medication
I've been researching it and I can't find anything that says it isn't safe with
statins
, bisoprolol, ramipril etc but I wondered if any of you had any knowledge/experience of it? Thank you :)

Statins Do Not Cause Cognitive Decline
Negativity about
statins
seems to continue with a number of internet doctors(?) and their followers. Some good news though. New research shows that they cause neither cognitive decline or memory loss. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S073510971937799X?via=ihub

Statins for 65 yr old asthmatic woman
Hi, has anyone had any experience with Lipitor
statins
? My GP decided to prescribe them for me. I tried to explain that I wasn't 100% on this as I have had bad reactions to various drugs, vaccines in the past.

Blood pressure update as promised
completely misunderstood what it was about .I thought I'd have another bp check then a private consultation with the nurse but what happened was we all sat around the table while a nurse explained about blood pressure ,what kind of things caused it what was the best ways to self help and if any of us wanted

High Cholesterol 8 2
The Hepatologiest said no to
statins
until the results of a further recent CT scan are known which should be on the 7th of January. Over the last 2 years my bloods have only reduced to normal readings 3 times and last week's is one of those three which is weird !

What do statins do?
I have read that
statins
lower cholesterol, but my chelosterol levels have never been high even before my HA 7 months ago, now it is dangerously low. I have heard that
statins
also reduce plaque, whilst presenving the all important hard cap, preventing a rupture and subsequent blood clot.

Hi all. Recent test showed my LDL at 1.51. Cardiologist says it should be lower than 1.4. I guess that’s the level for those with established AHD? I’ve been taking 40mg of Atorvastatin for 7 months now. No HA but 2 stents after 80% blocked LAD. Heart now has almost normal blood flow according to the

Heart attack last week and feeling scared.
I wrote a few months ago saying my cholesterol was 19.4 and docs were adamant that I needed
statins
which I refused to take. My levo was increased to 200mcgs and I started to feel much better.

Alternative treatments for Busulfan
The only other medication she has is
statins
as she has had two T.I.A.s. We are concerned that Busulfan may be getting no longer suitable. We have attended several MPN forums and Busulfan is rarely mentioned and it appears that Pegasus Interferon is more popular.

I’m on a cocktail of ramipril, digitalizm, long lasting nitrates and
statins
. Lately my symptoms seem to have got worse, to the point that I’m frightened to go out the house in case I pass out.

Has anyone ever heard of liver damage from
statins
? I’ve had difficulties with 4 different
statins
for years (severe leg muscle/joint pain). Diagnosed with fibrosis without significant fatty liver 2 weeks ago but was told by an acquaintance that their fibrosis was caused by reactions to
statins
.
