Anti-PCa effects of statins, prednisone, aspirin and denosumab (Xgeva)
People here spend a lot of time worrying about deleterious potential side effects, even from commonly prescribed
statins
and prednisone. But as far as I can tell also have anti-PCa effects.

I Don't Want To Take A Statin
Comments like "I am allergic to all
statins
" do not hold water where only one statin and one dose was ever tried.

Statins and Metformin for Ovarian cancer
Lately I have read some studies regarding the efficacy or metformin and
statins
for ovarian cancer. Seems there maybe some benefits from these drugs. Since my partner does not have high cholesterol I doubt our oncologist would approve its prescription for us.

Heart Squeezing & Repeat A&E visits
I am now on Bisprodol 25mg and as my cholesterol is 6.9 some
statins
. A CT calcium scan is planned. GT spray normally works but did not during my last episode - last week. i feel that I cannot keep ending up in the emergency department with no further progress.

high T4, Normal TSH, lowish total T3, rising Lipoprotein(a)
Started taking
statins
last year and this had it under control but now it is high again. Lipoprotein a was always around 50 (ref.is below 30) but has risen consistently since the cancer and is now 90. Blood pressure also rose but I'm taking medication and it's under control.

In the UK my doctor is advising prescribing me
statins
. I have heard that there are natural options which may have less side effects. Can I ask advice from any guys who have to take them? Thanks.

Statins and PA
Could anyone give any information on
statins
and B12. I was advised that I should start taking these at a check up and B12 injection today. There can be various side effects to this treatment and didn’t want it to negatively affect my PA

What next after sarilumab?
Tocilizumab was a miserable failure and resulted in me having to take
statins
. I am about to start sarilumab and as this is a IL-6 med (whatever that means) I am worried that if I get the same side effects I will need to stop that too.

gout - aspirin?
I’m 4 months post CABG x 2 and 6 months since a stent and going on all the meds including aspirin Clopidogrel ramipril bisoprolol
Statins
etc etc. I thought I’d got away without side effects but I’ve now had two severe gout attacks in the past month.

Statins
It’s been two and half years since my HA,Stent and followed by triple bypass and I have been on
statins
one type or another since then. Despite not having high cholesterol (currently 4.3) I have had increasingly painful legs especially through the night.

QRISK2 cardiovascular disease 10 year risk score
I told him that I was not keen to take
statins
as I had seen the problems they had caused my wife over the years. I then asked him a question which I have often use as I get older, now, if I was your Dad, what would you recommend I should do.
