Medication side affects after NSTEMI
(I declined and opted for CBT elsewhere, which was also a bit meh) and recently being told they are going to increase my
statins
despite not having a blood test in over 5 months.

Potentially Heading Flarewards
So my GP is gently asking me to consider Aspirin and
statins
. I have a family history of TIAs and also vascular dementia so I can understand the concern, but at 54yrs old I am reluctant to be on handfuls of pills per day.

Update: x-ray shock 😲
Along with the heart meds, I also now am given aspirin and
statins
. I am also aneamic so on iron. I have clottication. Thick blood. So...I called the bhf nurse. Very nice and helpful. She said I could ask my doctor for a pain patch for my groin as the blocked artery feels like a pressure.

I’m waiting to hear from my Rheumy who is very good so I don’t know what he’ll advise but I’m hoping I’m not told to go onto
Statins
but I also don’t want to risk a stroke or heart attack. Best wishes

Heart attack
Also the
statins
were bad at first especially atorvastitin 80mg I had night terrors fighting to stay alive in my dreams, I’m currently on rosuvastatin 20mg but these will go up to 40mg but are far better. Simon I.

Another Cholesterol question
It’s interested me particularly as mine is the same and the surgery are trying to push
statins
on me. Currently I’m hypo so I said I’ll decide when my Thyroid levels are optimal. The link given by shaws explains the relationship between TSH and cholesterol.

Oxycodone OR Bupenerole
I also take
statins
. My question is do I feel fatigued all the time because I am trying to come off pramipexole or is it the oxycodone. Before the Oxycodone I was taking codeine 30mg 20 tabs a day. About 4 months ago I was put on oxycodone instead of the codeine.

Doctor rant
So no
statins
until then. So how important are they? It would appear not that important. The health service has gone to hell.

Statin Side Effects
Hi I have been on
statins
for many years now and for about 12 months I have been feeling quite generally unwell occasionally. Mainly weak, achy, shaky & sometimes upset stomach. I’ve had blood tests & calcium levels are found to be raised.

Having a STEMI in mid 40's...the search for underlying causes / answers for premature CHD.
He is of course now on all the medications you can throw at this including
statins
, ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, ezetimibe, aspirin and clopidigrel. But here's the conundrum....no one so far can shed any light on why his arteries were so extensively blocked.

It all started with a purple toe!
I've had high cholesterol for more than twenty years and although I've been prescribed
statins
, have never continued taking them until recently when I developed a purple toe. The doctor was concerned it was an embolism and I was sent for several tests and to see a consultant.

Appt at Lipids Clinic and discussion about thyroid levels
They are going to do all the genetic tests, which is great, but there was a lot of pressure to take
statins
(and some fear mongering)and dismissal of any controversy about the benefits of
statins
. Results of these tests take 6-8 weeks so will have another appointment then to make a decision.

Statins and stomach cramps .
I am a 70yr old male and I have never taken
statins
before . I took the tablets for 4 weeks then had to stop taking them due to unbearable excruciating stomach cramps that prevented me getting any sleep until I stopped them .

Statins
I am now reconsidering taking
Statins
and I’ve been searching the internet for information on whether
statins
help to slow or increase the progression of Chronic Kidney disease and I am left confused. There seems to be NO overall conclusive evidence in the articles I’ve read.

pbc and statins
Was put on
statins
for high cholesterol but these brought on a weird itch so stopped taking
statins
. I also take 20mg pantoprazole daily for reflux, which I can’t do without. My ferritin is low at 21. Just wanted to know if people take
statins
/ppi with pbc and how they affect you,
