ventricular regurgitation
see cardiologist After all the tests I was diagnosed with mild to moderate ventricular regurgitation He reassured me that it wasn’t t dangerous and wasn’t t caused by suppressed TSH As my T4and T3 were in range.if symptoms get bad I can go on low dose beta blockers .he also wants me to go on

Effect of increased levo dose
I am hoping this will continue as I am resisting further pressure to take
statins
following discovery of aortic aneurysm. Also the increased levo has caused a distinct improvement in my peripheral neuropathy- still a big issue but a very welcome improvement as I had hoped.

Statin use and outcomes of oncological treatment for castration-resistant prostate cancer - From the Finnish poulation, Nature, 11/01/23
These results suggest that
statins
might be beneficial during hormone-sensitive phase but not in the later phases of prostate cancer treatment.

So glad…
I’ve been told my cholesterol is quite high, 5.9 and doc wants me on
statins
. Does anyone know if there’s a link between the 2? I hate the idea of
statins
but wonder if they’ll relieve these symptoms as apparently, cholesterol is produced at night.

statins & underactive thyroid
The nurse asked how I felt about going on
statins
although she said I am low risk due to my lifestyle & diet. I’m not keen on going on
statins
because I heard that they are not good to take if you have an underactive thyroid.

Anxiety is back as bad as ever
Latest call was to tell me I needed added meds along side
statins
to see if they could bring my cholesterol down. Total cholesterol 4.9 of which 3.6 is the bad stuff, it’s terrified me and bought back all the old anxious feelings I had for so long.

Is it all because of thyroid or separate?
Around the same time I was dx with metabolic syndrome and have suffered so bad over the years with
statins
and recently my cholesterol levels and trigs results are through the roof. I've been on 150mcg levothyroxine for near on 3 yrs now. And I have been on
statins
for around the same time.

Good luck with that one buddy, I have enough aches and pains and GI issues without adding
statins
to the mix, thank you very much.

Oh well, it was inevitable I suppose!
I realise that there must be lots of people here taking
statins
for hypertension but I thought it might be helpful if I set out my findings to date.

Worried
GP appointment tomorrow cholesterol high at 7.6 so will probably want to put me on
statins
which I’ve always resisted. I read some posts on here regarding Polymyalgia and GC Arteritis. It’s got me worried. Is there a particular blood test that would show. Am I over worried.

Are most RA patients on
statins
? The rheumatologist has never mentioned them. My GP surgery recently asked me to attend an RA health check . A surprise as they never have done before. He did bloods for cholesterol, diabetes and something else which I can’t remember . Blood pressure, weight etc.

Concerned About Statins - Post taken down
Anyone know why that post was taken down? Last time I looked there was nothing out of the usual there. Did I miss something? I just got reply to one of my comments in my email and the whole thread has disappeared.

statins

Hit the wall again!
On another note I’ve decided to stop taking the
statins
I was encouraged to take. A visit to the doc recently about painful hands resulted in him saying try to stop taking them for a couple of weeks and see if that helps. So that was my cue to stop altogether.

I am having a break from
statins
because they gave me severe muscle pain. Any ideas why this has started in the last few weeks ?

Medication side affects after NSTEMI
(I declined and opted for CBT elsewhere, which was also a bit meh) and recently being told they are going to increase my

despite not having a blood test in over 5 months.
